FH may not be able to make our Rehearsal!! MAJOR vent
FH started the Nassau County Police Academy last week which I have to say first I am SO proud about! BUT, as it is we cannot take a honeymoon until at least April, I've come to accpet that and be ok with it and now we find out that they work rotating weekly shifts of either 7:30am - 4pm or 11am - 7:30pm. So this means that if our RD falls on a 11 - 7:30 week we have to make our rehearsal and RD a week earlier. BM's and guests have already made travel arrangemets for the RD. IF it is not a 11 - 7:30 week we can leave the RD BUT he will have to report to the academy at 7:30am the morning after our wedding! He was upfront with his class officer about the wedding and he has already said that we must be flexible with our RD plans.
He's not on a regular routine yet so we can't even count the weeks to figure out what the shifts will be. The anticipation is just killing me, not to mention how discouraged I am.
Thanks for listening!

I hear ya, but girl let me tell you it could be a lot worse! I am in a similar situation, only I had to reschedule my entire wedding, change venues and lose a whole lot of money and cancel the honeymoon! My rehearsal dinner is now two weeks before the wedding because FH is only able to go on a Saturday. Don't stress about it too much, it will work out just fine. At least you know he will be there for the wedding.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS to your fiance! That is such a great accomplishment to have been accepted!
Wow, that seems to really make things difficult. Would it be possible for you to make your rehearsal dinner later on the day that you had planned? Like after 7:30pm, that way he could make it and no one would have to change their travel plans?
If you aren't able to do the rehearsal itself later, what about doing the rehearsal itself earlier in the day and then doing the actual dinner later at night so that he could make it. That way everyone will know what to do the day of the wedding. And the groomsmen can fill him in on where to stand?

He really should be able to work something out. My Fh works for NYC sanitation and we have many friends that are cops, firemen, Nassau cops, port authority officers, etc and although it can be a pain and will take some finagling (sp?), its been my experience that when they REALLY need to they can work something out. I am sure that your wedding and rehearsal will qualify for an acception. Good Luck!

It's one thing to be on the job and need to work someting out, it's quite another when you are in the academy.
