lets make a list of places to avoid while furniture or apliance shopping....
since it seems a lot of us are always looking for this, should we just start a post to make it easier????
so far, we (dh and I!) have been pretty lucky except for a place back when i moved into my apt a few yrs ago - but they have gone out of business (i do not wonder why!!)

PC Richard I have found to have the best deals on appliances. The sales guys are commission based... so they will haggle the price for you.
I like Seamans for furniture.

I like Seamans for furniture.
I agree with both. I got most of my furniture at Seamans.
One place I have heard to stay away from is Huffman Koos.

I actually heard that Huffman Koos declared bankruptcy and is having a huge clearence sale soon. Might be worth checking out.

we are not in NY, but we went to Best Buy to do research and then I went online and it looks like BB is the cheapest. I have also seen commercials that Lowe's will do the Meet & Beat deal (same as Sears)
