What the heII is going on with these posts about people adding to their RSVP, not replying on time, not writing their name on the card....

After sending out my invites this morning, is THIS what I have to look forward to??

WHAT is WITH people?!?!?!?! Not only do we provide the stamp, but should we come pick it up on a red velvet pillow too???

I know. Mine were due Saturday and I still need to hear from 27 people. Just in case we're not busy enough at this point we have to sit and make phone calls. I think it's RUDE!!!

Yes, my friend - this is what you get to look forward to.

My dad's cousin's in Florida NEVER rsvp'd to the wedding - I made my dad call them and they asked for another week!!!!!!!! Either you're flying here from Florida or you're not - idiots.

I made my dad chase down his family - and no, they weren't embarrassed. This is all just part of the fun

My wedding is in 12 days and we still are missing 2 replies. Not to mind that many people replied over the phone after We called them and some replied through other family members and friends. No they were not embarassed at all. We even had i person tell me future Mil that yeah she remembered receiving an invitation, but she forgot to reply. Then she didn't even give an answer. She said "oh I have to check with my husband. that was 5 days ago and still..... no phone call.

It's truly amazing how rude and inconsiderate people can be..

so far we have received an RSVP that was addressed to the parents only and they chose to add all their kids names to it!!!

I MADE THE CALL to straighten that out REAL QUICK! AHHHHHH

Bridal Guide had an article on "Guest Manners"
& 'respond to RSVP IMMEDIATELY' was #1

The RSVP's was my biggest drama.... I still haven't gotten back about 7 of them & I have been married for 6 months

The "add-on" people were my favorite......

Re: What the heII is going on with these posts about people adding to their RSVP, not replying on time, not writing their name on the card....

my wedding is this saturday and people still have not responded to us despite emails and voice mails.

I went to visit a very close family friend 2 weeks after responses were due. She asked about the wedding and I said it was crazy and we were coordinating responses. I knew she hadn't yet responded so I asked if she got the invite. She said, "Yes. We got it."

I still have not heard from her at all. She should have said something to me there. I didn't press her because I figured she probably already sent it back or that she surely would after she saw me. Nope!

My fiance has friends who don't call him back but have told other friends they are excited to come to the wedding. We know they need hotel rooms and they never booked them in time so we booked rooms for them. We called to say we guaranteed hotel rooms for them with our credit cards and they still haven't responded. Yet they constantly talk about the wedding to us!!!

People really do not grasp how important the resonse cards are. If one more person says, "Oh, was I supposed to send that back?" I'm going to scream. What is the stamp for? These are people with graduate degrees and many are recently married. What system did they use to get headcounts for their weddings?

Tip for those who have not sent out invites- DO NOT PUT A SPACE FOR GUEST NAME ON THE REPLY- it opens up all sorts of problems. Write in their name and only put accept or decline- THEN if they decide to add more names they really look retarded when you call them on it!

All of your stories really freakin' amaze me. WHAT THE heII is wrong with people?!?!? It's just downright rude!!!!!!!!! If they are so completely retarded as to not understand the RSVP concept, then they don't deserve to come!!

Yes, I had the same stuff happen to my E- invites & its not a part that I am looking FWD to when it comes time for the wedding. What pissed me off was that I went to the trouble of putting the stamp in the return envelope, then I have to call them and track them down a number of times.....one guy drove me soooo crazy, he added his daughter to the response card (so she could drive, so I let it go) THEN they didn't even show up! ...

I think there should be PBA-TV commercial about how NOT to be an inconsiderate guest...LOL

My rsvp date is August 4th... We invited 406 people. We've had 120 people respond so far. I have a lot of verbal "yes's" but to me - I want to see it in writing! LOL!!

It's so annoying. So far we've had three different couples include babies and one father - LOL!!!!
FH and I are pretty laid back about these things... but come on! We even did the inner envelope and wrote specifically on them the names of the people invited. It doesn't get much clearer than that!

I am hoping to send out the invites rather early to avoid this ridiculous drama. I already know who the people are who will add their kids names (I might jump the gun and just inform them of the complimentary babysitting service I have set up!)

When should invites go out, and how long should you give people to reply?

So far I have had positive experiences; but it's only been a week and a half. Yes people are rude and some are just plain lazy.

Nooooooooooooooooo! You cannot send them out early. People will put it off thinking "oh, that's not due back until ---, I'll mail it out next wee", and then BAM! It's past the date and they've participated in creating Bridezilla.

I got one. My cousin had a baby. He and his wife are flying up from Florida. He e-mailed me to ask if he could bring his 3 month old daughter, and before I could e-mail him back, I found a response with "X, Y and baby Caity will be happy to attend).
