That happened to me too. I was like I want 150 people tops. Yeah ok. My list is at 212 right now, and that is eliminating a lot of people. It means more tables, more centerpieces, more money overall!!

Im freaking about the guest list too. We have 193 right now (not including vendors) and our min is 130. We are way over and I keep looking at the list and cant find anyone to cut.
It is VERY frustrating.

Do you think its worse to be over or under???
My fh is happy b/c he says the room will look better with more people and he was afraid it was going to look silly since its such a huge room... but I was going to ask them to throw in extras if we didnt meet the min. which I cant anymore...

you guys are freaking me out! I still don't have my FMIL's list even though my FH keeps telling me he thinks he got them all on his list!

I wouldnt mind being a little over (hate to think my mom would have to pay for food that wouldnt be eaten + the ball room where dinner is served is really big). 150 would be ideal. But I feel bad asking my mom to pay for anymore than that.

We thought we were going to have trouble meeting out Minimum of 150 guests for the wedding. We didnt think the list would even reach 150 let alone the " 20% decline" thing. Well my mom and fmil finally handed sat down and did the final lists... now add on our friends and the list is at 198!!! And fh's family which is a good chunk of the guests are NOT the type to decline...


eta. I dont know if we can really afford to be OVER the min!! lol

Same here- we started ( our first list) at 110-115...then our final list was 209!!!!!!

Now I think we are at 175 and hoping to get that to about 160 so our 125 minimum is met or just slightly over( very slightly over...like in maybe one person!)

I hear you. Things are getting way..... out of control with my wedding. Yeah people say that they are going to pay anything over what we said they could have but, that still means more $ on favors, centerpieces, etc.. I just don't know anymore.

My list just jumped from 139 to 168 over the weekend!! FH decided he had to have this person which meant he had to have that person. YIPES! This was after we booked our place and 160 is pushing it for space!

Honestly - I wouldn't worry about it - we ended up having to invite people last minute because we did not make our minimum and we invited SO many people over our min - people will NOT come, I promise you - even people that you SWEAR will come!! I do not think that you are going to far over your min - you will get no's that are surprises...

We thought we were going to have a small, intimate wedding originally, but when we sat down to come up with a tentative list we had 350 people on it!!!!! We've cut it down to 280, but I think that is the lowest it is going to get. Believe me - I feel your pain!
