Bridal Shower thank yous
Hello all,
I had my shower this weekend, and it was absolutely beautiful. As soon as I get pictures, I will post them. 
Now, I would like to write "thank you cards." Am I to mention in the card the gift that was purchased? or do I simply say thank you with a sweet message?

Don't laugh, but I have the 'Bride's Guide to Writing thank You's:
my MOH bought it for me!
It says you should mention the gifts & how you plan to use it if possible.

Yep, always mention the gift, even if it's $$ say what you're going to use it for. it just makes the card more personal. it means so much more to get a card that says
"Dear Aunt Sue,
Thanks for the blender! It's so perfect! You know Jimmy and I love Smoothies! We'll invite you over one night for margaritas!"
Than
"Dear Aunt Sue
Thank you for your generous gift. it was such a pleasure to have you at the shower.."

You should mention the gift and say something sweet if you can.

Don't worry about if we have nice wording..because that turns into "thans for coming and for the generous gift. it was so thoughtful of you!" just personalize each. be honest. every one will be different depending on the gift and your relationship with the person. So "thanks so much for the lovely place setting! We can't wait to use it when we're hosting the holiday dinners! I hope everything at our dining room table will look as fabulous as yours always does! You can be the judge when you come over for our new year's eve party! Love, Amy and Matt"

We did this for the wedding gifts - I was uncomfortable saying thanks for the $$, we are going to use it for x. So we mentioned a special moment with that guest at the wedding.
