I got my Amsale BM dresses at Bloomingdales in the city. They were great there and gave us 20% off!

I was just at the Amsale salon in Manhattan this afternoon (my girlfriend is looking for her BM dresses). It is 625 Madison Avenue, between 59th and 58th (I think). They have the entire line of BM dresses there, but stupidly every single dress is in a light taupey color (aka skin colored) so I hated myself in everything.

They didn't offer us a discount, but then again my friend wasn't at the stage where she was ready to make a decision so she didn't push for one.

We had just come from the Vera Wang salon and they offered us 10% off right off the bat.

Most of the prices tags I looked at at Amsale where either $290 or $300.

If you want to describe the dress to me I can tell you if I seen it there. I honestly think I tried on every single dress in the store.

The other one which i cant find a pic of is strapless -a-line, has shirring around the waste - front and back - the front leads to a short of knot that has like a straight sash that is attached to the dress - i wish i wrote down the style number-

Oh - and i tried on more Reems today! They didnt have the one I wanted but they can get it cheaper than Botticelli - the woman i worked with was great - i'm ordering it in june when the trunk show is going on -

YES!!!! I had that one on today! I thought it was so cool because it totally looks like a sash but actually looks much more formal and less bridesmaidsy than a regular sash dress, it's really very unique, the way it all comes together in the front is very flattering! I tried on the one you posted in the pic too, but I tried it on in satin, they also have it in a two piece version. It was very pretty, but we ruled it out because it is more of a mermaid cut and will not be flattering on all bodytypes.

Lucky girl had a bunch of Reems on today. Glad to hear the original Reem is still the one though. I am so happy you found the dress you love at a great price. Congrats.

My dress is in! I am going to try it on in a little over a week. I am sooooooo EXCITED!

I'm not sure if Bloomingdales does alterations. My girls all live out of town so they are having them shipped and altering them themselves. They all tried them on in their home towns then I placed the order here because it was less expensive. Bloomingdales have been a pleasure to work with!

You must be SO excited that your dress is in!! It is such an odd feeling trying on dresses - its just makes the day SO much more real while you have it on.

I'm not sure if Bloomingdales does alterations. My girls all live out of town so they are having them shipped and altering them themselves. They all tried them on in their home towns then I placed the order here because it was less expensive. Bloomingdales have been a pleasure to work with!

I think I saw Amsale dresses at Maid to Order in Brooklyn. I got my Vera Wang BM dresses there, and they were very helpful.

The VW salon is a great place to go to look at dresses, they have everything and at the end they give you a sketch and a price for each dress you like and a swatch of each fabric and color that you like. Then I took my sketches and prices to the Wedding Salon and they honored VW's prices plus gave me 15% off since I ordered my dress from them. If I wanted to skip the alterations entirely they would would given me 20% off. The Vera Wang salon offered me 10% off. All but two of my nine girls live on Long Island and it was just much more convenient for them to go through the WS.
Neither the Amsale boutique or the Vera Wang salon offer alterations but they both recommend places to go to (all within Manhattan).
