I'm so sorry. I have a diabetic cat, too. I know one day I'll have to do the same thing. The important thing is that your kitty is happy and healthy now and at least you got to love her while she was here.

I know it's difficult to lose a pet, I did about 10 years ago. It was very hard.

You are not alone. I had to put my almost 17 year old cat down last Friday (April 16th) and Heidla had to put her's down two weeks ago (I think it was 2 weeks ago) and one of my mom's close friends had to put her cat down a few weeks ago. I am still feeling the pain that you are experiencing right now, but I can tell you from a week after, it does get easier and you WILL be able to talk about it without crying, eventually.
Somehow I think this is nature's way of making room for new birth as all of the shelters are saying that this is kitten season right now. I think we are going to get two kittens very soon.
May your heart heal, but never forget the love you had for your cat.
Hopefully all of our passed on kitties are frolicking together doing things we never let them do!
