If it's a holiday Monday, than it's like a Sunday wedding. Why not? But, if it's a holiday, I bet they'll charge like they would for a regular Sunday.

Its not such a crazy idea right?!
the weather sould be nice, mostly everyone is off from work, not to mention a major discount for having the reception on a weekday.
I wasn't sure at first, but Im thonking its a pretty good idea!

i think it depends. do you have a lot of OOT's? if so - then i don't think the monday of labor day is good - airfare would be higher than usual, as it is a holiday. also - i would be surprised if you got a discount - i would think any hall would treat it like a regular weekend.

I think it will be OK. My parents want to have our wedding on the Thursday night because its supposed to be really formal (or something like that), but im afraid no one will come.

well I am having my reception the sunday before presidents day ( when almost everyone has off) so its really like a sat. and I still got sunday price.

I am having my wedding on the Sunday before Labor Day. My FIL's just mentioned to us about traffic. I guess whoever wants to come will make the effort.
About pricing, only one place tried to charge me DOUBLE because it was a holiday weekend. The manager said he pays his guys time and a half to be there. I think it is a lie and a scam...needless to say we didn't go with him but just be careful. I guess you already booked though.

As someone else mentioned, I think it depends if you have a lot of OOT guests - I was invited to a destination wedding last Labor Day Monday and a LOT of people (Including me) didn't go - airfare was horrendous and it was too much to get back very late that night and be working at HS the next day! JMO...

I went to a wedding in NJ last Memorial Day. I dont know about the discount or anything but there were a lot of people there. I guess it depends how close you are to the couple.

it all depends....on how u think your guests are.
I know my guests, actually my fathers guests....(his half of the list) wouldnt go unless it was a saturday. It all depends...
personally...i like the idea of a sunday wedding if everyone gets monday off due to a holiday.

and i will also echo the OOT concern, if you have a lot of potential OOTers, i would attempt to feel out this situation and get some type of feedback from family and friends regarding potential attendance...

to be totally honest, many guests may not be too happy due to the fact that it is essentially the last big weekend of the summer.
personally, i think it would AWESOME. what a great way to end the summer.
unfortunately in this situation i would be more concerned about my guests than myself. of course those that really want to be there will make every effort, but don't expect a tremendous turnout.

At the risk of repeating everyone else's posts, it really depends on whether there are out of town guests coming.
I went to a wedding on a monday last October (Columbus Day). It was a day wedding and it was really great. . . and the bride and groom were able to save a lot of money, which I can appreciate since i'm trying to save some myself.
