Church And Reception Site Question.

How many hours do you have in the middle to take pictures? I am just wondering before i book the hall. I am going to have the church at 2pm and maybe out by 3pm . I am not sure how long i am going to need to take pictures. I just want to get an Idea of what other brides are doing.

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

My mass is at 2 and the cocktail hour starts at 6:30. It may seem like awhile but the church and hall are 1/2 hour apart with no traffic. We are figuring:
Mass 2-3
Receiving line 3-3:30
Travel 3:30-4ish
Pictures 4ish-6:30
That is probably too much time for pictures but we want to be able to join our cocktail hour and not take pictures then. Plus we want to leave extra time for travel.

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

We have the church at 11:00am, and the Cocktail Hour 1:30. The church is 1/2 hour away from the Reception hall. I think 1 hour or less should be given for pictures.

Same here.. even if we go over a little, our guests can start the cocktail hour while we finish up

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

15-20 minutes for pics (i am not the norm)

ceremony 2:00/2:30
reception 4:00-9:00

30-40 min drive in between

i am attempting to have the reception immediately following so there is no downtime for guests...

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

Ceremony is from 11-11:30.
Cocktail hour starts at 1:00.
20 minute drive in between

Didn't want too much downtime for guests and this was the only time at the church and latest time at the hall, so there it is. Figure we'll miss half of the cocktail hour, but that's the way it goes.

You'll need more time for pics if you plan on going to another location other than the church and the reception site.

Ceremony: 3pm-3:45pm
Reception: 7pm
Probably an hour drive in rush hour on a Friday

I tried to have as much photo time as possible without totally pushing it

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

my photographer told me 3 - 4 hours to take pictures between travel time and actual shots ( mind you we are using multiple locations to take them -but maybe that helps )

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

Our mass is at 3:30 and our cocktail hour starts at 6:00. We're thinking about pushing it off to start the CH at 6:30 so we can have a little more time.

Re: Church And Reception Site Question.

Our mass is at 2:30. Cocktails at 6pm. We are a little nervous about such a big gap. However the church and reception are about 45 min. apart. You really only need about an hour to get a good amount of pictures depending on the amount of people in your bridal party, and how much family's being included.
