We booked our rehearsal dinner last weekend. I thought it was early too but Fi's parents were totally hounding us to get it done (they already booked a place last August for the RD in October and we both hated it, but thats another story.)
Anyway, we thought it was so early but when the woman at the restaurant opened up the reservation book, there was another RD scheduled for the night before ours.
Moral of the story: if you have your heart set on a place, try to book it earlier rather than later.
