Which BM dress to compliment a slim straight wedding gown?
I am going with a merlot/garnet color and I am thinking of a small bk for me with burnt redish callas. Is that too much red ya think?
Any opinions on these dresses?
D'oh! - files too big! Hang on......

How many BM's on your party? The dress you choose is called a mermaid style dress. It is mean for very evenly porportioned body. They are very tighted fitted and can be a little unconfortable to sit in, and to walk in, they are narrow at the knees, sort of the Mortisha dress cut from the Monsters. Very sexy, but for a long day, it may not be the right cut. If the bottom was cut straight down, it would probably be more confortable for your girls. JMO

I agree I had that style dress picked out also but it didnt compliment everyone... even some skinny girls with wider hips and very awkward to dance/walk in

Re: Which BM dress to compliment a slim straight wedding gown?
The first three look very similar in style. Are you having an afternoon wedding? And are you getting married in February? The reason I ask, is because, all the dress are cocktail length. If you do decied on one of these, keep in mind of the body types. I had four girls, and one of them was extremly top heavy, and she could not wear strapless tops beacuse the strapless bras were not enough to support her. We had to look for a top that had straps. Ultimately, they worked our great beacause the other three were extremly petite on the top, and they were happy to be able to were regualr padded bras.

Re: Which BM dress to compliment a slim straight wedding gown?
It is a summer wedding (July 23rd) and the ceremony starts at 4:00 - evening reception. But I was always drawn to the tea-length gowns so I would really like to go with it. I do have 2 big breasted girls in the party- have to admit, one of them did look better in the halter top but she has pulled off strapless before and doesn't mind doing it again. But the Jim Hjelm web site does not show red in the color swatches for that dress... need to research that one. I gotta step on it with these dresses. I am such a procrastinator!!!! Terrible

I like the 1st & last ones. The last one is the straightest & I like the halter. However, if your girls would rather hide the hips a little, the first one is better for that, b/c it flares a little.

Re: Which BM dress to compliment a slim straight wedding gown?
those are 2 favorites - the first watters (with the little flowers on top) and the last jim hjelm (halter). I still can't get this plaid one outta my head though

- but in person that color is so yellow and there is no champaign on the color swatches.
Soo...I keep thinking and stalling....

Re: Which BM dress to compliment a slim straight wedding gown?
No, no picture - but it is Francoise by Pete Langer. Please go easy on me b/c i am going through bridal bananas and i don't like it anymore - maybe that is why i am having a hard time pairing it with a BM dress....

Don't go by the swatches paired with the dress. Go by material swatches. Meaning, if the dress is in satin - any satin swatch on their site can be used for any satin dress.
PS - LOVE the tea length dresses...I really wanted that look but when paired with my gown, it just didn't work.
Good Luck!

I'm sure your gown is lovely. Everyone goes through a period of second-guessing her gown. Try not to sweat it. That said, I think since you are having your wedding at such a gorgeous formal place, and you're wearing (i'm guessing) a formal gown, I'm not loving the tea length. Overall, I do love the look, and I was originally going to go with a tea lenth bm dress, but I dunno, I think everything should match in formality. Also, have your bms tried these dresses on? My bridesmaids hated the tea length. My sister thought it made her look "stumpy". (she's petite) JMO, your bms could love it, and you might love how it goes with your gown. Good Luck!
