How do I politely tell BMs that I really do need their dress money now?

I paid off the dresses over the summer. They all know that they have to pay for the dresses. Two of them told me over a week ago that they'd mail me a check. (I guess they forgot to bring the money when they picked up the dresses).

I really do need the money. I am putting out a lot of money toward this wedding. I was planning on covering their hair for the day of the wedding, as well has getting their shoes dyed for them.

So, now they need to know that I need their shoes in the next couple of weeks and I need their money ASAP...

I would just state it how it is - you laid out the money, they were aware of the cost and that they had to repay you, and that now is the time to pay up. And in addition, you need their shoes. You can definitely say all that in a polite way - just say it succinctly and not wishy-washy.

Money situations are always a bit sticky, but you need to be upfront about this. Tell them honestly that you're spent a lot of money on your wedding and you had no problem laying the money out for their dresses, but you do need that money now. Tell them you need it to pay for something else wedding related. Whatever you do, don't feel guilty about asking for what is yours.

I am going through this also. I gave them dates in the letters that I sent them, but so far only 2 of the 7 have sent their money.

I plan on sending an update email on where I am with the planning and slip in something like if they need to make arrangements let me know.

Just Tell them straight out you need the money!! And Good Luck!! My mom laid out the money for two of my bridesmaids dresses and lets see, my wedding was over a month ago and we have yet to see that money!! Not holding high hopes we'll ever get it, but they can be damn sure they will never get a damn thing from us again, no birthday, christmas or anything presents. Oh and they were two cousins too!! My suggestion for future brides, don't lay out money for the girls dresses unless you know they have money to pay for it or unless you get it up front before they get the dress!!!
