Music for CD Favors
For those doing CD Favors or ever received a CD Favor or just have an opinion about a CD Favor... What do you think? Should the music be all love songs, or all types of music?

Re: Music for CD Favors
I tried to pick songs fitting of the event..but that doesnt have to be love songs really...as long as they are not songs about dismemberment or something like that, I think you are just fine. So I voted 10 Favorite.

Re: Music for CD Favors
You can have the songs from your wedding on the CD... like the first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, cake cutting, garter toss, bouquet throw, last dance.... So it can be a variety of music specific to your event! That is what my sister is doing

Re: Music for CD Favors
we'll be doing love songs, but in a variety of rhythms, like dave matthews i'll back you up along with a song by ella fitzgerald, all the way up to barry white and sarah mclachlin.

Re: Music for CD Favors
That's a good idea too. I guess we're having a hard time because I don't want there to be no theme at all. Like if we put loves songs, and then a techno song, and then some spanish music... I think it would be all over the place.

My sister did songs were gonna be played at the wedding...
We are doing love songs and inspriational songs
I don't think favorites (all types of music) would work...

Re: Music for CD Favors
Thanks Reggi, that's very nice of you! I was thinking of doing them myself, but I do want someone to burn an image or some text on the actual disc for us. I know you can use a label, but I'd rather have it burned right onto disc. I'll definitely contact her!
Thanks for all your input ladies... anyone else???

Re: Music for CD Favors
The CD we had made were comprised of key songs from our reception. All of these songs were on our play list .. and we felt they all had special meanings that made them appropriate to our day, and for the CD .. plus, we felt there was a nice variety to the rhythms .. so they're not all slow, mushy love songs .. we got a lot of compliments on them .. and know of people who still listen to them .. and I'm not referring to family!

Here's our list:
Going to the Chapel-Dixie Cups True Companion-Marc Cohn (1st Dance) Everytime I Close My Eyes-Babyface (Groom-to-Bride Dedication) I'll Always Love You-Taylor Dayne (Bride-to-Groom Dedication) A Kiss to Build a Dream On-Louis Armstrong Walk Forever by My Side-The Alarm (Special Anniversary dedication to Brother-SIL) Unforgettable-Nat King Cole/Natalie Cole Always and Forever-Heatwave Have I Told You Lately-Van Morrison (Anniversary Dance Game) My Girl-The Temptations (Father-Bride Dance) It Had to Be You-Harry Connick, Jr. More Today Than Yesterday-Spiral Starecase The First, The Last, My Everything-Barry White Gimme Some Lovin'-Spencer Davis Group (Our Entrance Song) Everybody Needs Somebody to Love-The Blues Brothers Top of the World-Van Halen (Cake Cutting) How Sweet It Is-James Taylor Kind and Generous-Natalie Merchant An Everlasting Love-Natalie Cole At Last-Etta James (Last Dance)

Re: Music for CD Favors
I say there is not really a method to the madness as long as everything flows. You can mix but let one song lead into the other like the radio does ....they dont always stick to one beat.
We bought our cds ready made, but this can be more expensive and you odnt have control of your song choices. But we did classical so we didnt have to worry...older crowd.

Re: Music for CD Favors
I'm also doing this as favors, have wondered teh same thing...we would like to do a mix of songs but think that the love songs, slower ones, seem to fit better on the CD...but will everyone like them, or ever listen to them again? Thats the question right? I don;t want to make something they will never listen to again...

Re: Music for CD Favors
Exactly... that's the problem I'm having... but I think like some of the girls suggested, if you go with a theme, like all the music used in your wedding, that would be nice too.

Re: Music for CD Favors
I was going to do only wedding music, but would it flow, a fast song(liek into song) with our first song..ughhh, why is everything so hard...even those who are not perfectionists Im sure can attest to becoming one when they started planning their wedding..I used to MAKE FUN of friends who got all crazy and were all about "Wedding talk"...now I LOVE THEM, they are my soulmates....lol!
