I felt the baby kick last week!
It was sooo surreal! We were at our hotel in Aruba (here's the link to my review Aruba trip ) and we had just jumped out of the pool to relax a bit.
I was on my lounge chair and all the sudden felt this ticklish flutter!  It lasted just for a few seconds and then it was gone. I knew immediately what it was from hearing others describe it....and it was the most wonderful feeling. It made my week So in honor of that I bought a small Aruba bib in a souvenior shop DH thought I was crazy!!

Wait until you feel it all the time!! It's so amazing to feel it runble and tumble inside you!
BTW, I also bought a little shorts set for the baby to be while we were in the Bahamas last week and DH thought I was nuts! But I kept telling him I wanted to baby to have something from his/her first vacation.

That was my EXACT thought! I said to DH "but he/she is already here on vacation with us"
I really cannot imagine how exciting it will be to always feel a little person moving around inside of you!
Since then I've felt a few squirms here and there but nothing as pronounced as the first one....I guess that's normal for now? Tomorrow will be my 18wk mark.

Terri, my GF says her baby would do it at night and she would have sleepless nights, she said in the day she enjoyed it, but her 2nd child was a kicker. That must be so awesome!! Were you surprised

Yep, someone told me that when you're awake during the day and walking around, that it comforts the baby and rocks him to sleep, but at night, that's when he is awake and wants to move around!
Tammy - I'm 18 wks as of tomorrow and oh boy did I pop! I got off the plane and DH couldn't believe it! You'll be able to clearly see in the Aruba pics I'll post later this week

My friend told me the same thing! She said it's actually a benefit that we work the night shift at the hospital because we are walking around all night so we are soothing the baby to sleep and it is good practice for one the baby actually comes. I hope it's true!

Teri, congratulations on feeling the baby. It's so awesome and just keeps getting better. It's funny how you felt the baby kick for the first time while in vacation, I did too. I felt the baby flutter a month prior to the actual major movement. I think the baby enjoyed the sun, beach and relaxtion...

OMG - towards the end can you really feel whether it's a foot or a butt pressing up against you?! That must be the strangest feeling!
