A BIT OF ADVICE....

Please, ladies...remember to eat the morning of your wedding. When I was a BM...we had eaten breakfast, but by the time we were standing around for the ceremony, most of us were starving again and some of us nearly passed out. Luckily her aunt brought some crackers and cookies for us to nibble.....

Re: A BIT OF ADVICE....

Hmmmm...your advice (which was good by the way) made me think of what other advice we may have from being bridemades in other people's weddings. The biggest thing I learned in the last wedding I was in was to make sure that your hairstyle is comfortable. The bride had a beadache before leaving her home because her hair was too tight. I was running around getting her tylenol. I think that it's probably a good idea when you go for your hair trial to keep your hair that way for a few hours to make sure it isn't uncomfortable.

Re: A BIT OF ADVICE....

Good advice. I plan on having at my house for my bms - some snacks, some fruit, soda, water and straws - so they don't mess their lipstick. also one of bms is going to make sure to pack up some of the stuff so it's in the limos too.

Other advice as a past bm/moh
1. def. have your little bag of tricks (have sewing, aspirin, extra pantyhose, etc for the bride)

2. don't drink too much before the reception

3. make sure the bride has lipstick on. I've been to weddings and the bride needed it and probably didn't realize it.

Re: A BIT OF ADVICE....

We are getting ready in the hotel room the morning of the wedding. Ceremony is at 12:30 so it won't be too bad, but I will probably bring in bagels or soemthing to the hotel for everyone to eat while we get ready.

Re: A BIT OF ADVICE....

I have a friend who is actually considering NOT EATING before the ceremony for which she is a BM. If I didn't have to attend my cousin's Bar Mitzvah that day, I'd probably FORCE FEED her! LOL
