GREAT Gym/Fitness Center in Queens (Astoria, Woodside area)-repost from nwr
I know there are a few of you on here that have recently moved/are moving to Queens...
Incase you havent heard of the BQE Racquetball & Fitness Center..
I used to go to this gym years ago, and I thought of mentioning it here, since the prices are probably MUCH better than other gyms in comparison.. They have everything from a cafe/bar to a swimming pool, and they are open 24hrs.
A friend just looked to sign up, and she got a membership for $215 for 2 years, and its a 5day thing (no mon or tues) I remember they had "night owl" and "early bird" type memberships also. This price could be REALLy low because she was a member in the past, so it may have been a renewal price.
Its located maybe 2-3miles from Steinway St/Astoria Blvd.
I just found an old article on the gym, if anyone wanted more info.. its worth it for the price.  (if the prices really are this low!)

ya know whats funny is i used to go to the bar part (yes there was a bar in the same place as a gym LOL) Anyway this is the final place where i met my fiance the last time( i met him three different times over a course of 7 years) He was from a neighborhood near where i grew up( near the bqe) so we both ended up there with mutiual friends. Buit sad to say i have never worked out there
