HELP! QUICK!! We're signing the contract at noon...Who do we make the downpayment check out to???
HELP!!! Who do we make the check out to?? Do we need a certified check from the bank??
We have no clue, and are meeting the lawyer at noon!

You can send a personal check (unless your contract says otherwise). The check should be written to the seller's attorney's firm as escrowee. So for example if the firm's name is ABCD..the check should be written as ABCD, as escrowee.

Sweetie.. call up your lawyer and ask him.. We didn't need a cert. check but in some, if not most cases, a cert. chck is required..

We spoke to our lawyer they said the same thing... a blank check made out to the seller's lawyer.
I'm nervous!!
