Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

Id rather not.. no one is hopefully going to be sitting long at those tables set up out there. Most places I've been those poor things are always pushed aside. But they do make a room look nice at first entering.

*shrug* Still unsure.

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

My hall provides small vases with a floating rose in it. So I am going to use that. It is a nice touch and won't take up much room and it's free!

My hall provides it. I think it is either floating candles or floating flowers I dont remember. But I do remember that is one thing I dont have to worry about.

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

My hall offers a choice between two thing which would be nice if I could remember what they are right now...I think one is a floating candle centerpiece and the other is some pretty little lamp that I think they put a candle in. Either way - I'm not having flowers ordered for the CH - I'd rather throw that expense towards the table centerpieces for the reception. JMO

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

I am contemplating doing mini fishbowls with the floating candles but I will see what my hall does first. It seems like a bit of a waste to go overboard in a room they are sitting i for an hour and a half.

Same here. Flowers in general for me are not important at all, so it was an area to save some money.

I am spending about $200 or less for some floating flowers in small vases, they will look pretty with some votives.

I think I had a few "mini" arrangements on the small tables and candles all around.

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

My hall has small centerpieces (I think candles) on the cocktail hour tables. My florist is going to throw rose petals around those.

I think the tables are too small for arrangements. Just some votives and maybe rose petals.

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

My hall provides them - i wanted to put a gardenia in a bowl of water - but honestly - the guest are only going ot be there for such a short while - the money i am saving on not doing extravagent flowers in teh cocktail room can go elsewhere!

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

My hall gives a CP 7 roses in a fishbowl or an $8 credit per table. I am just not sure whether I want to apply the credit to my CP or use the flowers for the cocktail hour....

If you're asking for an opinion, I would apply the $8 towards your CP's and forego the CH arrangements. The tables are always small, people are only in there for an hour...

Re: Are you buying flowers for your cocktail hour?

No. Our hall provides votives for each of the tables. I think that might be a better statement for the CH room.
