Re: Suggestions for: Out of Town hotel bags and bathroom baskets PLEASE
Hi Shana! We made hotel bags with a white shopping bag and I ordered cute labels from www.myweddinglabels.com and used red tissue paper (since that was my color theme)
We went to price club and bought bottled water, soda, breakfest bars, hershey kisses, chips, asprin packets, etc. We also included LI guides that I had got for free from my Town Hall and the LI tourist bureau. I also ordered free subway maps and NYC guides from the City tourist web site as well. ALL FREE! I also included a list of nearby restuarants that I recomended to my guests to eat. Good luck!

For the hotel bags, I would just use colored paper gift bags.
& for the bathroom, a wicker basket.
oops- i read that as, what to put them in, not what to put in them.

Don't go nuts buying a ton of stuff for your bathroom baskets. I bought a lot of things for the two baskets I made and not ONE thing was used.
I'd just get the bare minimum of...
hairspray mints hand lotion pads/tampons bandaids saftey pins

I totally agree...don't go too crazy. I had baskets made for me and neither one of them were used. We took both home with full bottles of everything and nothing was opened...my Mom has them in her bathrooms now.

Re: Suggestions for: Out of Town hotel bags and bathroom baskets PLEASE
Thank you ladies & Dina...thanks for the list and where to get the info...several guests are coming in and have never been to NY!!! Do you still have those websites handy????
I already have mini bottles of hairspray that I got for a $1 at Bath and Body Works (WOW!) and 2 tins of Burt's Beeswax lip balm (same place $2.50) and I have a ton of baskets at home and I know a Dollar Store that had them!!

Re: Suggestions for: Out of Town hotel bags and bathroom baskets PLEASE
I am starting to get a list together of what I am going to put in the hotel rooms...thanks for the ideas. I am going to use gable boxes wrapped with ribbon and a bow to put everything in. Gable boxes are those boxes that D&D munchkins come in...in case you don't know...I didn't that's what they were called. I found them at www.bagsboxestissue.com
