Suggestions about close friends not in the wedding party?
I have asked 3 of my close girlfriends to be in my wedding party and my FI's 2 sisters. My problem is I have 3 other very close friends. I dont really want to increase the size of my wedding party. But does anyone have any suggestions on how I can recognize these friends and/or incoropate them into my wedding????

What about having them do readings at the ceremony? That way they are a part of it as well.

IF it is a church wedding have 2 of the do the readings. If you are having a mass one can bring up the gifts. I dont have any ideas for a cermony at the hall though sorry.

Re: Suggestions about close friends not in the wedding party?
Thanks so much. The ceremony is at the church. It is so hard, bc i have family that I would like to do the readings.
If I chose to add them to my wedding party, is that tacky??

Re: Suggestions about close friends not in the wedding party?
I have 2 very close friends...that are not in my BP. I am only have 1 MOH (my sister). I was a BM in both of my friends weddings...I explained to both of them that I love them dearly, but I wanted to keep it small. They were both perfectly happy about not being BM since it saves them time and money! They have both done things with me...like shop for wedding stuff, and I plan on inviting them to get their nails done before the wedding along with my MOH, just like they were actually part of the BP.
Talk with your friends...keep them involved in your plans and use them to bounce ideas off of. Let them know that they are special to you and try to find other ways to include them in the planning. I wouldn't add them to the BP if that is not what you originally wanted....JMO.

Re: Suggestions about close friends not in the wedding party?
I had a close friend who couldn't have me as a BM, so she had me and two other of her close friends hand out rice flowers at the end of the wedding, and has us greet everyone at the beginning... I have the same problem with two of my male friends... can't be part of the bridal party, so I'm going to ask them to be ushers, and ask them to come to the rehearsal dinner

Don't know if this is an option for you, but instead of having ushers per say I asked my 2 girlfriends to be wedding welcomers, they handed out my programs, directed people to there seats, etc. They loved it, still got to be involved in my day w/out the expense of a BM.

Re: Suggestions about close friends not in the wedding party?
I was in a similar position, I have 2 close cousins, and I decided to ask them. I now have 8 bridesmaids and I think it's great. I am so happy that I asked them. They were so excited and they have been so involved. I like a big bridal party though. In my opinion, the more girls, the more fun!!!!!
