Hawaii: Hyatts or Starwood UPDATED: WE booked the HYATTS!!

Hi everyone, we finally have the hotels down to 4 that we need to decide between. We are looking to stay at the Hyatt or Princeville on Kauai, and on Maui we are looking to stay at the Hyatt or Kapalua Bay. Any advice? I've seen lots of good info on the Hyatts and Princeville, but I haven't seen much on the Kapalua Bay Hotel. Please help!! Thanks so much!

I plan on going to Maui for my honeymoon, and as far as the hotel, I've been told by every single person....STAY AT THE HYATT!!!!

FH did a lot of research on the whole honey moon and we decided on the Hyatt for Maui. It looks beautiful.

The Hyatts are awesome!! I stayed at both, Maui and Kauau. From what I know, Princeville is beautiful but it is far away from everything on Kauai.

We are staying at the hyatts on Maui Kaui and Oahu. We were going to stay at the Princeville. But I was told by a travel agent that Princeville is amazing but is on the north side of the island next to the rainforest. Its damp and in order to get into the Rainforest you have to drive all the way around the island. Most things are on the southside of the island. Kaui hyatt has an amazing pool. Good Luck!

We are staying at the Four Seasons in Maui and the Hyatt in Kauai. We've heard from multiple people that the Princeville is on the rainy side of the island. I guess it comes down to your preference. I don't think Kauai is that big. My bro and sil had breakfast a few mornings at the Princeville but stayed at the Hyatt. Hyatt recently remodeled, I think within 5 years. We had the same dilemma, couldn't decide between the two. Friends who honeymooned at the Princeville last July were VERY upset. Booked at week there, spent one night and switched to the Hyatt on the 2nd night of their honeymoon. That clinched it for us.

It takes about an hour and a half to get to the hyatt if I remember correctly.

We stayed at the Hyatt in Maui and Kuaui and loved them both. We drove to the Princeville and it is absolutely beautiful but beware it is far away (an hour or so) from most everything Sorry, but I don't know anything about the other hotel

Has ANYONE stayed at the Kapalua bay, I've heard nothing about it, we might do a combination of hyatt and kapalua or princeville, but i'd just like to hear something about the kapalua bay before we go with just the hyatts. thanks!
ETA: they are both the same price range, princeville and kapalua bay are even a little more expensive.

Although youcan earn points at both (I'm the point reward Queen LOL) stay at the Hyatt it's your honeymoon a little more money but worth it

With the hyatts I think you can get some kind of discount if you stay at all hyatts and also you get free breakfast everymorning (and Ive heard its not just continental breakfast)

We are staying at the Hyatt on all 3 islands we are visiting (Oahu, Maui, Kauai). I have heard all good things from the girls on these boards.

We stayed at the Hyatts on Maui and Kuaui. We got the free breakfast on both islands. SOOOOOOO worth it. The spread was nice (better on Maui) from eggs, to pancakes, to fruit, to fries, to fish, to cakes plus lots more. Kuaui they didn't have as much for some reason but still a decent amount of food. If we didn't get it free it would have been about $45 a day

That's great. Like I said Maui (IMO) was much better. We would go at like 11:30 so it was more like lunch. In Kuaui I would suggest going earlier (we never did) but it seemed like there wasn't too much when we got down there. Don't get me wrong, I still stuffed my face

YAAAAA I have heard such wonderful things about the Hyatts. I think we made the right choice. We are staying at all Hyatts Maui Kaui and Oahu.
