I was thinking of the placecandles, but decided that the hallway outside my reception room at Westbury Manor is very narrow and I don't know how dangerous it would be. I think I will be boring and use the ones they provide

I'm using what the hall gives me....people leave them behind and throw them out anyway

For my engagement party I used small square envelopes with the guests name in blue (our theme color) on the outside (printed on my computer with a nice script) then placed the table number inside the envelope (same script with a large number) and added a blue bow on the outside above the name.
I know people just throw them out but I had the time and I wanted something different and they were so cheap (I only needed 100 envelopes but 250 cost me like $20 so I have them left over for something else...maybe rice packets at the ceremony).
For the wedding I may go simpler (sp??). I hate the idea of writing peoples names on a pre-printed card so I may just get blank ten/place cards and clear labels and do them on my computer again. Good luck!

I am using little heart place card holders with square flat placecards in the same calligraphy font as my invitations.

FH is going to design a little placecard for us and then were going to put them out on the table in the wedding bell placecard holders. That way people have a bell to ring instead of clinking their glass if they want us to kiss!

I think we are going to order place cards with the invites and just used that but we plan on dressing up the table that the cards are on. Our florist is making a flower arrangement in a Champange glass and sprinkling rose petals on the table.

Also when our first Christmas together FH had a black and white painting made of us. It has to be about 20 x 36 and the guy copied it from a picture taken of us at a wedding.

So we are planning to getting a stand and putting it behind the card table. We are just a little afraid that people are going to think that it is a sign in board or something and start writing on it.

For my 12/27/03 wedding I used scratch lottery ticket placecards - The top of the card said wishing you riches from the Mr. & Mrs.
and at the bottom of the card it had our names and wedding date

The scratch ticket gets inserted in the middle of the card. At the very top of the card I wrote our guest's name and table #

Our guests really got a kick out of it!

I am thinking of making them decoupaged - roses and have them looki shabby chic - with old pics of cabbage roses and then print everyone's name on vellum and modge podge tehm with some french ribbon

i think were doing cd's.. then wrapping a strip of vellum around the cd with the name and table number

The cards above are cute but make me think of a birthday paarty and not a wedding.
Maybe it's just me though.

Also - because they are big - remember they will be strewn all over the table when people sit down so it may look messy.

With Votive candles - how do people in the back reach over all those flames to get to their candle? Anyone have a pic?

I'm using my rose petal paper from my invites, taping some vellum to it and spreading some rose petals in between the rows. I'm also making a berry spray arrangement in a white urn and I'm putting little signs that read "Peace" "Love" "Joy" "Protection" "rejoice" "jubilation" "pleasure" "delight" "friendship".

I am just using regular little placecard frames in Silver and Gold (alternating). I picked them up from Franks on Clearance for 25cents each.
