Do you think it would be crazy to get another dog?
We've had an English bulldog puppy for two months now and are thinking about getting another puppy- a golden labrador. We've always talked about having two dogs, but I don't want to overwhelm ourselves! We have a house and Lyla (the bulldog) has her own room to run around in while we're not home. Since we're gone all day, DH thinks she'll be less lonely if she has another dog to play with, but I'm worried that a) they'll tear up the room b)they'll hurt each other by too playing too roughly or I don't know what else, but I'm worried. I do want another dog but don't want to go crazy either.

Re: Do you think it would be crazy to get another dog?
I have two and was skeptical and first but its really not much more work I mean they go out the same time, when you give one food you just have to fill one more bowl.... its not so bad and they have someone to play w/ all day

Re: Do you think it would be crazy to get another dog?
I am in a similar boat. We have a black lab (showcased in my avatar) who is 6 yrs old. I want to get another dog to keep him company, but DH is not into it b/c he thinks the dogs will chase each other around and scratch up our wood floors. I am still working on him
One thing I would keep in mind if I were you is that lab puppies are very active and need lots of excersize. This can be an issue if you have a bulldog, who cannot run around a lot when its hot. When my friend brings her bulldog over in the summer, we have to try and keep Onyx somewhat calm, as my friends dog tries so hard to keep up w. him, but can easily ger overheated (those poor stubby legs ) .

Re: Do you think it would be crazy to get another dog?
I have a two and a half year old and we got a puppy (same breed) six months ago. The two are inseperable and I'm glad I didn't wait because dogs tend to get set in their ways as they get older. My older B/T does not like the little ones at all She "tolerates" the puppy because she's more laid back than the middle child, but they still don't get along or like each other. The two youngest act like littermates and spend every waking minute together (that and their brother cat, Scutches). The younger ones also learn from example and we found training to be so much easier than the first time around.
