San Souci Brides

Hi
Can anyone give me an idea of what they thought of it?
I don't want to be nosy, b/c I will call tomorrow, but approx. how much pp is it??
I am thinking Sunday afternoon and it looks so pretty there - I passed by it tonight. I love the view and wanted to know about the food, service etc. and if the prices are really high or reasonable...
Thanks all!!

Re: San Souci Brides

I got married there in August and loved it. The food was great and the service was wonderful. I can't say enough good things about it. I found the pp to be very reasonable.

When I was looking for a reception site, they quoted me 85 before tax and tip per person for a Friday night wedding in August.

Re: San Souci Brides

I am getting married there in November and me and FH were quoted a price of $80 pp for the middle menu for a Friday night. We are actually adding a bunch of stuff so it comes out to $110 pp after tax & tip are included. I have heard that the food is excellent, my sister went there for a communion and a wedding and she is by far one of the most picky people I know and she said the food was amazing.

My friend was married at San Souci and it was probably some of the best food I ever had at a wedding.

Hi darly--

Did you find a place to rent? If you're willing to do Queens, try the Queens Farm Museum - http://www.queensfarm.org/, they're inexpensive, $600 for 4 hours, and I think that includes tables and chairs, 110 people. And for catering I got a good review of Dreamweaver Catering, www.dreamweaverscatering.com, starts at 12.95 per person for the food. And you know about my page.

Good luck!

I liked Sans Souci.. We didn't pick it but the lady who did the tour (she had short curly blonde hair) seemed friendly and easy to work with. It's a good place. Good Luck!

Someone on here mentioned the chairs looked old - of course, I can make my own decision when I go there - but do they charge extra to cover the chairs - I see the chair covers in the pictures...Thanks D

They do not charge for the chair covers they are included. The wedding cake and the centerpieces are also included.

Cool! I hope I like this place! It looks so pretty & the prices are so fair for what they offer...
What do they do if it rains (G-D forbid!)
Do they have a place for your ceremony
Oh Yeah
Does anyone know if they charge for ceremonies too??

Yes I am being a pain in the tush...
Does anyone know what happens if it rains?

Do they have a seperate room for ceremony & cocktail hour??

I would love to be married outside - I am looking at worst case scenario!!

Thanks!

Hi-
I also looked there and thought it was nice. They do not have a site fee and they quoted me 100 for a Sat night in Oct. I did think it was a little old looking. The chairs were old and the ones we sat on had stains, etc... I would defiantely recommend chair covers. Also if it rains the coctail hour is in this small outcove - basically in the reception room. Also the ceremony would be on the dance floor. In the end I thought it wasn't worth it for the money.

Sorry if I offend anyone, it is just my honest opinion. Good Luck/

Re: San Souci Brides

Hi Darly,

My Fi and I looked at it a few weeks ago and really liked it - it's in our top 2. It's really pretty and the view is so nice. The woman who showed us around was very thorough - we were there for an hour and a half! Their prices for a Friday, Sept 05 are $75 - 110 depending on the menu you choose. Cocktail hour is outside, and if it rains, they'll have it inside where the dance floor area is. I'm not sure about ceremony since we're having ours at my church. Chair covers are included as are centerpieces and cake. We're going to a tasting tonight. They have tastings the 1st Thursday of every month. It's $35 a person, but you get it back if you book. I'll post tomorrow on how we thought the food was. A family friend had their wedding their last year and loved it. (I didn't go though)
The only downfalls for me was that it might be a little too small for me (150) and I really want my cocktail hour outside, rain or shine. I had posted a question on it a while ago, not sure if you saw it or not:

Good luck!!

Re: San Souci Brides

We looked at it after being there for a wedding in Sept. 03. The food was fantastic- even the wedding cake! I liked it, but thought we could get a better deal elsewhere and thought our out of towners would have trouble finding it. The middle menu was comparable to what we were looking at everywhere else and we were quoted $70 pp (before tax & 20% gratuity) for a Sunday night in Nov. I think the prices are $65, 80, and 110 for the three menus (sunday night), but she told us we could get a $10 discount for Nov. or December, but only for the lower and middle menus- no discount for the top menu.

The ceremony is held on the dance floor if there is rain, but there is a movable wall, so your guests won't see the dining room during the ceremony. One person I talked to said the room was VERY tight, and was very uncomfortable. I went to a wedding that was about 100, but more than that might feel crowded. It was a definite contender, but we decided not to book there.
