At the beginning of the month I posted about my mom's friend who is battling ovarian cancer. She is like an aunt to me and a wonderful person. Well, when I came home from work today my mom was very quiet and looked like she had been crying. I tried making small talk and finally asked how Mrs. C. is doing. She told me that the priest came to give her peace of mind (I guess he performed the last rites) and that a few days ago she said she was ready to go.
I know now that it is only a matter of days, but I can't help but hope for more. The only thing that is helping me understand are the words of a very wise friend: "If this woman is so great, then why WOULDN'T God want her?"
So now all I ask of you dear LIW friends is to pray that her four sons and her sister and mother (89 year old mother is still kicking) have peace and comfort during this difficult time. I wish prayers could keep her here with us, but it is time for her to be reunited with her husband who died 8 years ago. She is needed in heaven.
Just say a prayer that she goes as peacefully as she has lived. She is truly an inspirational woman. Thanks ladies!
Just thought I would thank you girls for your kind words and let you know that at 2AM Mrs. C. died. It is going to be tough for the next few months for all of the friends and family, but she had a wonderful circle of friends (my mom, her sister, and some other great ladies who I consider like aunts) and four wonderful sons and together we will get through this.
Thank you for thinking of her and if you can spare a prayer, continue to pray for peace for her family.
