Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

Take the 8:30 ... less kids and you'll have time for a honeymoon "nap" each afternoon ... LOL

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

late was best for us, normally we got younger couples at the late or so we noticed and then we could do activities for the day, come home grab some buffet or room service, take a nap, go out swimming or something, come back shower and then go to dinner.

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

late gives you more time during the day. you really lose a portion of your afternoon with early dining by the time you get dressed and all

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

Definitely take late - for 2 reasons

1) families take the early seating usually so if there are families on the boat they will most likely be at that seating so you might have a lot of screaming children who are running around.

2) Most times the boat will depart between 4-7pm so if you have late seating it gives you plenty of time to come back to your room, shower, relax, get dressed and go for a drink before dinner. It really helps to spread out your day and make it more relaxing. Many things on the boats don't get going until later - so if you eat early you might have a lot of downtime after dinner - (but that last point varies from ship to ship)

I have always eaten late seating - and find it MUCH better - the people I have spoken to who have early seating say they always feel rushed to get back to their rooms etc to make early dinner and regret eating so early

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

You'd be surprised about the "nap" thing. After a long day of laying in the sun and playing Bingo, you really do get tired! lol! My FH and I napped just about every afternoon of our cruise, so late seating worked for us. Unfortunately we alwys missed the midnight buffet because we were still full from dinner.

Actually.. to be honest.. someone told me that the day can be so hectic and so exhausting.. that "nap" time is actually just that.. nap time.

I'm willing to put this to test this Oct 16th.

I encourage all of you to do the same on whatever set date applies to you.

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

I would suggest the later. When we did the cruise we missed dinner every nightm except the first and the formal. Then we met 2 couples who had 2 extra seats at their table (later sitting) so we joined them.

I feel the early, by the time you get back from port and shower up you'll miss it.

the 2 seating is better you have time to relax after the exursions nap shower and then get the night started with dinner.

Re: Cruise --dinner time advice....

I haven't been on a cruise yet, but we are for HM. FH has been on one before, and his parents have also. They all say the late seating is better so you don't have to rush back from shore excursions to wash up for dinner.
