Whats the funniest/stupidest thing FI has said/done during wedding planning?

Got this idea from the pain in the @$$ post. Thought it would be fun!

"I don't know why everyone says planning a wedding is so hard, this isn't hard at all".

This comes from the man who has not done one single thing in the planning of this wedding except book the HM which I picked out, and he only did that 2 days ago!

I was asking mine what he picked for his GM so I can add the exact amount into the budget.. he goes well I dont know what they like so I will just ask them what they want. Im like its not there birthday it dosent work that way!!! Now he inists on asking all of the GM what they want so he can go buy it?!?!?
This is also the person who stuck me with a budget and now said " why do you have to look at a hundred dj's you like em you book em who cares how expensive they are" ( I looked at 3 djs!!!!) what a drama king lol.
I looked at one hall.. we love it we booked it.. hes gotten away with alot compared to other FI's .. The only vendor I did see alot of was photographers and I did that on my own.. after the first one and I saw how bored and unhelpful he was being I didnt bring him to another one till I was ready to book duet!!

Well my FH has been telling people that we are all done planning the wedding for about a month. Meanwhile back in reality we didn't have our Save the Dates, Invitations, his suit, my MOH or BM clothing, flowers, honeymoon, limo, my dress altered, hotel for the night of, cake, makeup, hair, etc.

My FH said he wanted to get tuxes like how Lloyd & Harry wore in Dumb & Dumber... LOL I said NO WAY!! So now he's insisting on wearing a top hat & cane w/ long tails.. this will NEVER HAPPEN!! LOL

Other than that I've had it pretty easy with him, he goes with me to all vendor appointments and actually enjoys it.... I got lucky, but I have to deal with his silly humor with everything, which can be annoying at times when you try to be serious.

How do we want to fold the napkins?

I was like do you realize how much we have to do? and you're worried about how they're going to fold the napkins??? I'm not worried about that, the hall will take care of that and you'll like however they choose to do it!

My FH is super anal and very detail oriented, but he's in London, so there's not much he can do from there but worry about the napkins, I guess

Dont u think its funny when they way "WE" have so much to do?? Im like no I have so much to do.. you just have to sit there bored and pretend to enjoy it!!!

Why can't we invite all of his team members from softball? He plays on FIVE teams!!
When I told him how much $$$$, he said okay, never mind.

He wanted to push the wedding date forward (this May) so we would be able to go to his friend's wedding that's the week after ours (Oct). It would have given me 8 months to plan a wedding! I wuold be killing myself right now if I only had until May.

He's not Catholic, and he's from the south, so wedding ceremonies to him are like a 5 minute deal. You walk down the aisle, say your vows, and you're outta there.
Well, when I told him that Catholics are a little different, that the ceremony will take about 30 minutes, he said, "What! I'll be so bored!"
I was like, "EXCUSE ME??!!!"
The little brat is lucky we're not having a full mass!

I got, and in all honesty, he's is so good and he's trying to do it all with me, but I got "We don't have a lot to do, what is left, like 34 things?" and I'm thinking, we only booked the hall!!!
Yes, so the main categories are hall, music, photo, video, flowers, attire, invites, officiant and favors...but wait, there's more. there are like a billion subcategories for the aforementioned categores!!! And he can't understand why I am stressing about where I am sleeping the night before and every other tiny miniscule detail that comes along!!!

fh tells me " what does it matter if i go along to the vendors, your still going to book them even if i dont like them"...

When FH and I went to register...He says to me.."What do you mean we need more than two plates, cups, utensils?? There's only two of us Marcela." I just looked at him in disbelief. I didn't even know what to say

When we went to go meet the priest, FH was very nervous about the questions he would ask us. He wanted to know what we should say if the priest asks if we have sex!! I said, honey, I strongly doubt he is gonna get that personal with us!!! I am sure the priest would rather not hear that bit of info!!! I thought that was too cute!!!

"Don't get your bridal gown soooo early. You can loose or gain weight. One year in purchasing your gown is way tooo early. You're crazy."

I order my bridal gown in August 2001 and it arrived in December 2001 (note wedding was August 2002). I say expect about 6 months for your order to be complete so plan well ahead in antipication of your wedding date. Of course, bridal salon's efficiency, designer of gown, eleborateness of gown and it's features all affects the speed of order. I'd was glad I order my dream dress early because soon a year later it was discontinued. I didn't listen to my extended family or anyone's comments about not to order too early because of weight gain or loss. It was my dream dress that I have imagine it to be and did not want that opportunity to slip away. I LOVE my dress. Pics are in my bio.

Order early and note alterations also takes time. Good luck.

It was funny and cute at the same time. When I was giving him all the estimates for the flowers and the breakdown - he asked how much is my flower? Umm....$4.00 So he says this wedding really is all about you if my flower is only $4.00..... Cute

Oh heres one I forgot!
We got a beautiful Tiffanys crystal bowl as an engagement gift! As my fh looks at it he says "you know I have all these really nice bowls now (including our china bowls) but yet I have nothing to eat my cereal out of."

I couldnt help but laugh!

No matter how old they get, they are still cute little boys! The remark about all crystal bowls but no cereal bowls had me laughing!!! The other day, I was 'arguing' with my boy about laundry and how it doesn't go on the floor, but in the hamper (or oh, if it's clean, the dresser). I say to him just put it away or where it belongs (like i am asking him to run to guam or something) and he replies, where should i put, there'ss no place to put it, and i'm like, hello, there are four dressers, everyone else puts their clean clothes away!!! Sometimes he's my son and not my FH!!

yea right! like someone would buy that for us anyway?
I've had to explain what a rehearsal dinner was, how he had to buy his
GM's gifts and why we had to register. He did not want to go register at
first but then I showed all the cool stuff they have in the stores and now
I think he's getting a little excited.

When we went to register, the consultant asked our wedding date and he says October 7th and I say no it's August 7th so he turns to me and goes "Are u sure?" No dummy! I've just been planning this for the past year!
