does anyone have good ideas for sign in stuff for bridal shower?

like a rolling pin with all the strings attached for people to sign?? how would i make that ?

where can i find these sorts of ideas online?

My mom did the rolling pin with strings attached. She basically wrapped a rolling pin (the same one that we used at her shower) with fabric and tulle and tied on long ribbons with cardboard heats stapled to the ends for people to write wishes. She decorated using the color of my BM dresses. The only thing was - I think many people had not seen this before and just signed their names to it - not including wishes. But I had a sign in book at my wedding and most people did the same as well! I would attached or put some kind of note attached - saying to sign withyou wishes for the bride to be. I loved my rolling pin - it was special to me since it came from my mom's shower as well!

Here is a picture of it (my bow hat is in the back. The center decoration was a little penis pin - that my mom had me and all the BM's wear! (she also had some scattered on the tables which made for some interesting pictures from my friends! Although DH's grandma asked if it was a peanut!)


And my mom made the unbrella to match to theme and the sign in. All usin lace and ribbon and hot glue gun.


I think there is a site something like allshowers.com - that may have some good ideas. I know I used some when I was a MOH in my friend's wedding a few years back.

Erica I love that idea!

You can do:
Signing a plain apron

Signing a serving plate

Signing a large matted photo

A photo guestbook (This is what was done at my shower but you need someone to make sure everyone takes their photo and signs)


A wishbowl where people can write out their wishes and guesses for the future

A recipe book

i love the address book idea, erica!!!

i have seen the plunger and rolling pin done a few times. you can decorate the item to match the bride's theme or color scheme.

one of my BM's got a wooden pizza paddle and some pretty paint pens and had everyone at my shower sign, then I sealed it. its a great keepsake!!

My sister did a great thing. At every seat at the shower, she had a piece of cardstock (6"by4 1/2").

On the top of the paper it said
Please leave Beth and Ken a message on this speical day

Then it says
My tips for Marital Bliss


My special wish for you


Love,

After the shower, she took all of the sheets and made a booklet with the cover saying:

Tips for Marital Bliss and Special Wishes

Beth's Bridal Shower June 8, 2003

I LOVE IT!!!! I have it in my bathroom and look through it all the time. There was some great advice and also some very funny things (EX: one of my aunts wrote -for tips for marital bliss....a boyfriend wouldn't hurt )

I can't believe I forgot to say what my mom did for me...


my mom is an expert quilter (teaches classes...enters contests...etc) and she had everyone write well wishes to me on a sheet of fabric (with a fabric pen) and she is turning it into a quilt for DH and me...

now that was almost 2 years ago and I don't have it yet...thats why I forget about it...hopefully I'll have it for my 5 year anniversary
