Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
Has anyone done this or used this method to address their envelopes?
How does it work & where did you get the labels?

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
I didnt do it for the invites but I used them for my STD. I actually ordered my labels from staples.com b/c it was the cheapest place I could find on line. I think it was actually cheaper than it was in the store but I didnt have any other option ( I was sitting a home with my leg in a cast). I think they delievered it the next day and no shipping.
Good Luck

I don't think labels are appropriate for the invites. We printed directly on the envelopes. It came out beautifully. JMO.

I did clear labels because printing right on the envelope caused damage....I got many compliments

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
I also used the clear labels from Staples. There was a font on my computer that almost matched the invites, so I used that.
My girlfriend did the printing right on the envelopes and it did cause some headaches...ruined envelopes etc. and I was also concerned that they might run if it rained during the mailing.
Also, of all things to worry about...I didn't think anyone would say, "Oh my God, how tacky...she used LABELS!"

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
My first thought was not to use them. I felt hand addressing the envelopes were more formal and personal. (I have nice handwriting)
But I was looking at calligraphers, and they print directly on the envelope using computers (most of them, anyway) So I thought about using labels instead of paying someone else to use a computer font on my envelopes when I can do it myself.
Thanks for your input, and trust me, I'm never get offended by varying opinions.

Same here. I used clear labels to put on response cards as RETURN addresses for people who forget to write names on them.

This is brilliant!
Are there instructions anywhere on how to print addresses directly on the envelopes. I would love to do that with the shower invitations.

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
I don't think it would be appropriate to use WHITE labels but you can't even see the clear ones. My sister used the clear ones but she used really nice font and you couldn't even tell. She too got alot of compliments. I just got my friend's invite to her march wedding and she printed the envelopes right from the computer and when I received them they were all smudged and dirty. But both ideas are great, I guess you just have to be real careful if you decide to do them right on the envelopes. The best thing to do is whatever is easiest and less stressful. People just look at it, save the response card and throw out the invitation anyways

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
Most people agree that using clear labels on the wedding invitation isn't the best etiquette. It's considered a "formal" invitation, and should be handwritten.
I used a calligrapher and honestly she wasn't very expensive at all. I think my invites cost something like 150.00 for 65 inner and outer envelopes.
You have to do what you feel is best.

Re: Addressing invites using clear labels with computer?
We used clear lables for the return address on the top back flap of the envelope with a gold seal on the flap. They looked great. My sister in law did caligraphy for the address. I dont think that was innapropriate at all. In Fact everyone commented how great they looked.

we're having ours laser printed right on the envelope. I'm personally against labels on wedding invitations.
