Re: Gifts for new baby
I haven't had my little guy yet - but I think anything hand made is very special. I recieved a crocheted sweater and hat set with matching blanket from my grandma for my shower and I know it is something I will keep forever.

Re: Gifts for new baby
I agree with that. My Aunt crocheted him a set that included a sweater, booties, a hat, and a beautiful blanket.

Re: Gifts for new baby
While these are both excellent ideas (thank you for posting them), I need something that doesn't require any crafty skills!

Re: Gifts for new baby
not so much "touching" but I put together a baby first aid kit for a friend of mine...(along with receiving blankets and bibs)
one day she says to me...Daniel was crying last night b/c he had gas...and I looked in your kit...and there were gas drops!!! and he went right to sleep!!
my new thing is knitting blankets...and its not so hard...especially if you do a baby sized blanket

Re: Gifts for new baby
Okay, I know this ISN'T the topic, but what exactly are gas drops? I never heard of them, and I think Rebecca might have some gas!

Re: Gifts for new baby
Lauren, Mylecon drops are the best for gas!! I gave them to Gianna when she had that whole gas problem when she was about a month!!! They really worked and she would suck on the dropper because she liked the taste!
Gift ideas: I also got a BUNCH of handmade stuff from my MIL, aunt, grandmother-in-law and various other people. But since you want something not crafty, then how about something personalized? I got a blanket with Gianna's name and date of birth on it and a couple of silver photo albums engraved with her name on it.

Re: Gifts for new baby
When my godson was born, I ordered from Disney a Pooh Bear head and the body was a blue blanket with his name and birthdate embroidered on it.

Re: Gifts for new baby
That is so cute. That is not the one I got, they may not make it anymore. I got it 5 years ago. It was just Pooh's head and the body was the blanket.
