New Job Dilemma
I started a new job on 1/5, and was somewhat hesitant about taking it, as I was not totally thrilled w. the commute from my new house and other details about the company. So, here I am in week 2 and I have been given no training and no responsibility-they are literally paying me to sit around on a computer. It is a small company and has not been around that long, and they are totally disorganized- I dont think anyone has a clue what I am supposed to be doing or who is supposed to train me. I have asked for help a few times daily, and no response. I am curious to see how long you think is enough before you know a company is not for you. DH thinks I should leave and temp until I get another job, but I am not a quitter and dont know if I am giving it enough time. Honestly, my gut says this is not for me, but I dont know if I should stick it out or leave. If I leave, I wont put it on my resume. Any thoughts?

Re: New Job Dilemma
Since it's a realtively new company that's disorganized is there anything obvious that you can take charge of and get in order?? What type of position did they hire you for?

Re: New Job Dilemma
Without going into too many specifics, I was hired in a sales position. The category that I am selling is now going to be split between 2 sales people (In the interview process, I was led to believe it would be exclusive with me as the only salesperson). Without training or a list of clients, I cannot sell, which is my job. The other salesperson has not been helpful in training, as she loses commission with every client handed over to me. I have spoken to mgmt and keep getting the "we will touch base tomorrow and work this out" speech. So far, no resolution...
