Avg price of favors?

I found these really cute playing cards that you can personalize...instead of just the plain top of a card you can put "AimDom's wedding 7.10.04" with a chapagne glass or whatever...I think they are cute.

Anyway...they are about $3.50 per pack. Do you think this is too much? I was thinking one pack per couple and then we were going to do little jordan almonds for traditional purposes for each guest. What do you guys think? (About 250 people so cards alone would be about $450.00)
What was your average cost of a favor (if you did them)?

We chose not to do favors at all....not enough $$ in the budget, and even if we had the $$, I feel most favors are a waste (but I do LOVE the personalized shot glasses that some girls got....)

I hear ya about not enough for the favors. We do want to do them and I'm ok with spending some money I just don't know what is "average".
For those that did buy favors...any input??

I found a grand opening sale plain wine glasses really cheap so I'm hand painting each one and wrapping them in a box. I'm thinking it will be somewhere between $1-$1.50/favor.

I think that's fine. My FH did not want to get anything that looked inexpensive (we spent more than twice what you're considering). I think we spent too much and he wonders if we spent enough! He's crazy, isn't he?

Get what you like as long as it's in your budget and don't worry about what anyone else thinks (except your FH, of course).

ours are less then $1 per couple

We're getting chrome heart bottle stoppers and they're only $1.79 each. I think we're going to give one per couple (if they live together) or one per person for singles.

For the two girls who spent 5$ or more on the favors do you mind telling me what you got? I just bought mine .. I had the same problem with the FI not wanting anything cheap and made fun of every cute inexpensive idea I had so we just spent $7 a favor.

I am giving one vase to each of the couples

They are Lenox vases and come out to about $9 a favor

Does anyone know how much the small bottles of wine cost? Were thinking of doing that and a small box of chocolates per couple.

We are doing large maple syrup bottles and they are costing around $10 each.

I am doing candle, candle snuffers, and lighters and mini bottles of white wine. The wine was something extra my mom wanted to do. I did not think it was necessary, but they came out nice. All together we spent about $9 a couple.

Nancy, The wine bottles my mom ordered ended up coming out to about $3.00 a bottle.

I am going to have a mini bottle of white zinfadel at each plate setting. A liquor store around me has them for less than $2 each. And the company prints a label with your names and wedding date for each bottle. I am going to Bargain Liquors in RVC.

We got the small bottles. They came out to $1.45 a bottle. We ordered them at the liquor store by us. They gave us a nice discount because we ordered so many and they were directly from the manufacturer. We got white Zinfandel. I think it is Sutter Home.

ours are about 6.00 each - we kept the guest list low so we could go with the masquerade masks that ft our theme

Ours are about $11 a favor. The demi tasse (sp?) sets---6 plates and 6 cups.
