Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
but it turns out that he *loves* them?
Like interviews for the video. He wants them a lot.
Or the garter/bouquet toss. Wants that too.

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
Well I didn't think mine would care about picking out the invitations, but he does. He's being very picky about them. He said he wants to see as many as possible. What a freak!

Fh was actually concerned with all the aspects of the wedding but strangely he was very involved in the flowers and the DJ.

Yeah, it's weird, I'm starting to notice things here and there. Mine wanted to taste the food... badly! We did, now he's happy!
Photo/Video will be the next hurdle!

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
I don't know if I should consider myself blessed or cursed. My fiance doesn't seem to care much about anything. He keeps saying, "Whatever you want." It can get a bit annoying to not have his input. I went to 15 recpetion sites with my mom and he came to the one we booked. He was a little better with viewing the bands, but he could care less about flowers and invitations. I will probably wind up buying the gifts for his GM! lol! If I didn't love him and know him so well, I might be insulted, but that's just his way! lol!

We're taking dance lessons too! My friends husbang owns a dance studio so they gave us a gift certificate for 6 private lessons. I'm looking forward to it, it should be a lot of fun!

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
My FH is pretty content with letting me plan the whole thing. He does not want to hear about decorations, or flowers. He will prolly be very concerned with the DJ. He also wants to go with me to pick a dress, but I told him that was bad luck! So I get input on some things but not others. As you said, that is jsut his way though. Hea also was concerned about dancing too and asked if he should take lessons. But my wedding will not be that formal so I will just have to coach him some.

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
I am surprised he is involved..period. I thought he would be more of the..."whatever you want" kinda guy. But no he likes hearing about plans and being consulted.
The funniest things happened about an hour ago...I just bought the Martha Stewart Weddings and after dinner my FH was looking threw it...and yelled out "Hey babe check out Vera Wangs Flatware" LMAO

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
i didnt think he would care much about any of the details, and just care about the day...
he actually cared about the photo people wanting to pick someone we felt comfortable with, and liking his work, and he cared about the dj/mc how they sounded and how comfortable he felt around them!.. Im glad i had him there with me for both cause he really helped alot in picking!
he also wants a dais instead of sitting away from everyone..

FH is very concerned about our cake. He's even selected a cake from a magazine pic I ripped out that would be a $300 upgrade to our package, but he really wants it! Who knew?

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
FH has been pretty laid back except for the invitations (he picked) favors, and he wanted to see the style of calligraphy for the envelopes. The things he's interested in baffle me sometimes.

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
I was surprised DH was interested in every single aspect of planning the wedding. I never expected him to care that much about invites, flowers and tablecloths. He even pouted when he couldn't go with me for a fitting.

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
Bridesmaid's dresses! He came over when I was looking at magazine & said, that one's nice, so them I went on line to check out that designer's site (Charsa) an he was looking over my shoulder sayign what was ugly & what wasn't! I teased him & he said he looks b/c some of the models are cute!
Really It hink its because he HATES flashy, loud close of any sort & knows BM dresses can be weird...
He was very helpful with the hall & church, but I was surprised at how interested he was in registering, he wants knives & he helped picked out the china & casual dishes!
Shh, we can't let that get back to the guys!

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!! I wanted the screens (for photo montages) from the DJ and he was dead set against it. He felt it was "gay" and his friends would make fun of him. We knew the DJ we wanted and he didn't have them (so we thought) so I was OK with it......THEN I found out he DID have them and they weren't as expensive as I thought. I told DH I was sorry but I HAD to have them. He agreed to it but wasn't overly excited about.
Can I tell you they were a HUGE hit. DH APOLOGIZED to me that night after the wedding and told me how right I was about the screens!!!!! The wedding was 4 months ago and we recently went to a party with HIS friends and they are STILL talking about how "cool" it was. I love winning and being right!!!!!

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
I constantly get "whatever you want" or "not that I don't CARE, but I don't care what you choose".
He too wants to do a tasting so if he wants it, he needs to set it up!!!

Re: Are there things that you thought your FI wouldn't want or care about
This is really funny. My DH was a "whatever you want" type AT FIRST. I'd do "whatever I wanted" and THEN, he'd have an opinion! Mad b/c his opinion was usually different from mine. Although, in the end, everyone keeps commenting on everything and how great it was...... Betty- I too LOVE being right!
(This included everything from our wedding song to bag pipes outside the church.... the limos.... )
