Problem with jewelry for wedding LONG VENT!!

hi everyone,

Im having a little problem. I got married on new years eve. The wedding was beautiful and everything went great except one thing. I wasnt able to get my wedding bands and gifts for the wedding party. I ordered them in the beginning of december. The woman told me she would call when they came in which would be on the 19th. On the 23th i decided to call since she never called me and she told me the order came in on the 17th but she forgot to call. I was to busy to pick them up that day and she told me not to worry cause they are open everyday for the holidays except on christmas day and new years day. I called her on saturday 4 days before my wedding to ask her if something else i ordered ( not for the wedding) came in and she said she would check and call me back..she never called. I called again that night and she wasnt there. THe guy i spoke with said he couldnt find my order slip and to call back on monday to speak with the woman i was dealing with. Instead of calling i decided just to go and pick up my jewelry and the place was closed and all the hours were changed. I know its my fault because i didnt go sooner but 2 people that worked there told me they would be open the week of my wedding and the woman knew i was getting married on new years eve. Now my problem is...i do not want the ushers gifts. For their main gift i got them gold tie tacks that i was going to have engraved with their initals when i went to pick them up. I am so pissed cause i mainly got them so they can wear them with their ties and now i dont want them. I called the lady this week and she was yelling at me and said that i have to take the whole order. If i didnt give them such a big deposit i would just say screw it but i really want our bands. What would you do? Thanks for listening.

I don't care how busy I was, I would HAUL A$$ -- walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, run through a burning building, whatever! LOL -- to that place to get those wedding rings if i knew I needed them in such a short amount of time.... I have to say, I feel you are somewhat at fault for not leaving enough time.

HOWEVER, it does not sound like this place keeps diligent records, nor does it seem like they are properly communicating with each other. Hopefully you can reach a compromise with them to not take the whole order, since they did not deliver on the promised date. i hope you have some of their promises in writing.

i though i left myself enough time but i wasnt planning on my aunt and my husbands uncle dying in the same week...i had 2 funerals to go to and had no one else to help me out. It really didnt leave me much of a choice.

I would pick up my bands and threaten her with consmer affairs or Fox five news!! I HATE people like that!

I think you are both at fault here, but I would go and tell her your side and tell her that you had two deaths in the family. If she doesnt let you take just the rings tell you you are filing a complant. OR you can pick up the whole order use the other things as gifts for another time, and tell her you are STILL filing a complaint because she changed the hours never called you back, and cause you distress.
