I registerd for my china and things like that, but for the other things your better off about a yearto 8 months before the wedding because things get discontinued fast. I had to learn the hard way I went and registered for my eparty and everything is starting to get discontinued so now I have to return things so I can get everything later on to match.

Towels

Just keep an eye on it and you should be fine.

Getting married Feb - 05
Was planning on registering 6-8 mos before..even though my sister tells me to do it now I think its still way to early!!

Well i am only picking the styles, types and color of things that i like. They also have to call my mother and tell ask her if i got it yet and if not they can go out and get it. I think that way it is better and everyone can get you seomthing that you want.

You guys can definitely do it now. I was engaged in April 2002, and registered for a lot that summer. Only a few things have been discontinued since then. We waited until a few weeks ago to register for towels and linens, because that stuff tends to change faster.

Since I'm getting married in July 05, I figured I'd do it this summer, so about a year in advance. Not sure where I want to register though...

We registered for just about everything already. Actually did it like 3 or 4 days after we got engaged b/c our birthdays and Christmas was comming and I really didnt want another Padington bear sweatshirt from Grandma so instead we have almost all of our good china, all our steamwear, all of our everyday stuff. It just made everything easier for everyone for the holidays.

Thank god I didnt have to try to figure out where to return everything. I got everything in my taste.

I was planning for doing it about 6 months before my wedding. Is that not leaving enough time? I just thought it would be needed for the bridal shower, which I assumed would be about 2-3 months before the wedding.

If I registered a year in advance, would anyone look at it?

I'm gonna do it right before the holidays next year. I figure it will be
enough time (7mths) before the wedding and besides maybe I can start
getting gifts from it for X-Mas

Gagie24, I'm with you. I'll probably do it 6 months before since the shower will probably be 2-3 months before the wedding.

I plan on doing it before summer starts. My MOH keeps hinting that I must do it by then.

i actually went to fortunoffs today and got a lot done. my wedding is july 05- but it is never too early. i was in there for over 4 hours...what a day!!!

My wedding is September 2005 so I think I'll register around May 2005. (If I can wait that long )
