Repost from NWR: Need your ideas for a Cinco De Mayo birthday party!
My BIL is throwing my sister a surprise 40th B-day bash in May and is having a Cinco De Mayo theme. He's asked me to do favors and invites.
I'm ordering a Pinata, sombreros, and maracas....I'd love your ideas!
Thanks!

how about making invites using little Mexican flags. You could even get little Mexican flags and use them as the centerpieces.
Maybe you can look up the history of Cinco de Mayo and get people to dress up as the caracters!!
Hope that helps!

Incorporate Margaritas somehow!! If you are crafty, then it could be fun to somehow use them on the invite!! (ex. rimming the glass with some sparkles to look like the salt!!)

Thank you ladies! I knew I could count on you all for ideas.
Since it's only about 40 people, I'm thinking of getting inexpensive margarita glasses, and filling them with Jelly Belly jalepeno jelly beans...is that silly?

thats too cool!!
You could also make those gel candles in margarita glasses and add plastic chile peppers to it! those candles arent really hard to make...and they will make a GREAT centerpiece!!

I am pretty sure they have the large margarita classes in Michaels, they are huge.
