found our hall need help before signing contract!!
i found the hall, what should i make sure i have them put in the contract.
I know the time of the ceremony, cocktail hr and reception. but what about the fact that the ceremony is included at no cost, and the earliest time i can arrive for photos and to get ready.
i suppose the min amount of people as well..
Please help.. i feel lost

# of people you need to guarantee price per person gratuity- ours was 18% when we signed- now in 2004 its 20% but since we signed a contract they kept the 18%
exact things they are giving you- any throw ins- specific liquors etc.
how much you need to pay and when-
thats what i remember from my contract

You're on the right track. Make sure they have the $$$ per person, the percentage of the service charge, tax, when payments are due, the food included (hors d'hoevres, stations, extras, etc). If there's more than one bridal suite, maybe have them list the one you want. Basically, anything you want to make sure they do that day, get it in writing. Whatever they are to be responsible for, have it included. Most halls use a preprinted form and you may have to add some things to it. Congratulations and good luck!

GET EXACTLY WAHT YOU WANT IN WRITTING! many will yes you to sign, then act like they never said those things.
good point on gratuity!!! Things to think about now if you want it added..... See if you can get upgrades on cocktail hour (add carving station, or hot tray, or ice sculpture.) or upgrade appetizer, or add cordial bar or desserts, etc.
What c-pieces look like/include and other decorations/flowers provided (card table, cocktail hour, bathroom, etc.
minimum required paid guests.
coat check, valet parking
arrive early for pictures
use of candles, etc
cake included?
number of stations, food choices, etc
top shelf liquior entire reception/cocktail hour
bridal suite, bridal attendant
cancellation pollicy (you never know)
payment plan,,,,final payment cash/check day of.
white glove service, chair cover rental, adeius, etc.

You might also want to ask what their ratio of service staff to guests is and how many bartenders they provide for your number of guests...how much will it cost for an additional bartender.
