Gift idea for 23 year old guy
I need ideas for a gift for my nephew / godchild. He's 23 and in the Coast Guard, and will be based on a ship on the east coast. He really can't bring much with him - and I want to give a gift thats not $$ this year
Any ideas?

A prepaid phone card since he will be away from home.
An mp3 player with some of his favorite tunes programmed in it.
Some note cards and writing paper with a new address book and stamps so he can stay in touch with family and friends while he is away.
Take him out for a big blow out party night before he leaves. You make up a gift certificate/prize type thing to give him on Christmas.

he might not need a phone card, but that is not a bad idea. the ones in stationary stores in the city are $20 for 1000 minutes or soemthing like that.
a few dvds? books? pens and tons of postcards (you can get postcard books) and postcard stamps. and an address book with all the family addresses in it.
socks, t-shirts
that's all i can think of
