Ok...my first concert is Wednesday morning!
And my kids really stink! The little ones are just so damn cute that it doesn't matter what they sound like, but my middle schoolers, they stood on stage and barely, and I mean BARELY moved their mouths today! I'm so sick from the stress that I am freaking out. I'm just really looking forward to this being over. I'm not trained to be a chorus teacher, I'm an instrumentalist, and I'm just afraid that my inexperience with choruses is going to be blaringly obvious I need to breathe, whoo whoo whoo, hee, hee, hee.....

Hang in there - it will be fine. I don't think people expect great performances from kids and I am sure they are not as bad as you feel.

I think what is bothering me the most is that last month, the headmaster sat me down and read a list of complaints parents had about last year's concert (I wasn't the teacher then). I just have all of those complaints in my head and they keep repeating, and I don't know. These kids have NO real music foundation, so to expect anything from them at all is not fair to them, but still, I am just afraid of bombardment from parents Well, anyway, 1200pm tomorrow, this will all be over until next concert Thanks girls!

Good luck!! I'm sure your kids will pull through for you (and for themselves)!!
I was in many bands, choruses, orchestras as a kid. On the day of a concert, it always seemed to come together.
What kind of complaints could the parents have?????????????

I feel your pain Rachel. I teach Dance PT and two weeks ago was observation week (I was a wreck) and the parents got to come in and see what we had been working on and the one "bad" kid was out of control!! But the mother was embarassed not me! I have the same anxiety over the recital, that my kids (4 - 6yrs) are just going to get out there and stand there like a deer in headlights!!
You can only say "I've worked hard with these kids and done my job to the best of my ability..." GOOD LUCK!

Well I feel a little bit better because their rehearsal went well today. Even though everyone else seems to have a complaint about it, I thought they sounded great. This time tomorrow it will be all over, woo hoo!
