10 days before Christmas -- can you say STRESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Ok, I think I'm having a nervous breakdown!! I don't know which way to go first and feel like I'm walking around with my head shoved WAY up my a$$!!!!!!
First of all, my father has been in the hospital since last Wed and was supposed to come home on Sat, then that was changed to today, and now it's been changed to who knows when. I felt horrible because nobody could get to see him yesterday due to the snow!
Between worrying about him and my mother and working and trying to get shopping done (which is secondary to everything else), and cook and clean and trying to be super friggin woman, I want to jump out of my skin!!!!
Oh and get a load of this one: I told you all about our fiasco taking Gianna's Christmas picture at Sears, right? I had cancelled half of the order, except for the wallets, because she looked like "humpty dumpty" or a "butterball" (take your pick ) and we weren't too happy for w/them. So I go to pick up the wallets on Sat and they made an 11x13 of one of the shots and it came out cute (butterball and all ) and I got in the car and told Joe that we screwed up because now I have $70 worth of frames as gifts for people and NO PICTURES TO PUT IN THEM BECAUSE WE CANCELLED THEM!!!!! So he tells me to call Sears and reorder them, which I tried to do this morning and they won't honor my coupon, they want to charge me FULL PRICE and not for nothing but, I'm not paying full price for something I'm not 100% happy with -- and they can't guarantee I'll get them in time for Christmas -- so for that, I'll go to BRU and take them and go through it all over again!!
I did take her to see Santa (hardly any wait at Roosevelt Field on Sat, I was shocked) and she was an angel!!!
Then today I asked Joe to pick up my roll of film I took of her for the Christmas cards -- well, why do I bother? He calls me up and says "I don't like any of the pictures -- they aren't any good at all" and I said to him well that's too bad because we don't have time and he turns around and says that he wants us to send out the picture of her I took on Sat at the mall while waiting to see Santa!!!! HELLO, THE FILM ISN'T FINISHED AND DOES HE REALIZE THAT CHRISTMAS IS 10 DAYS AWAY AND WHEN AM I SENDING OUT THESE CARDS?????
Not to mention the fact that I still have to get pictures done for her Christening thank you??? The man is CLUELESS and tells me "Deb, you better be finished with shopping next year by Dec. 1!!!!" HELLO, I BETTER BE FINISHED!!! HALF OF THE SHOPPING THAT I'M GOING CRAZY OVER IS FOR HIS FAMILY!!!!!!! Not for nothing but right now I could give a flying fig what the heck we give his family.
And he's home today because, are you sitting down -- HE'S TIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME TO MY WORLD BUDDY! I don't know what the heck he's tired from because the little bear cub is an angel and sleeps through the night!!!!!! I think he's tired from watching me run rampant all over the place!!!!
Whew, that felt good. I needed to vent.

I'm sorry Deb but I have to crack over the he's tired line. Whenever Steve complains about anything I shoot him an "are you kidding me buster look."
Hopefully things will calm down after Christmas. I hope your Dad is OK too
P.S. I still haven't gotten any professional pics of Damien. I will probably get them done for his Baptism

Deb! you are too funny LOL, well I'm on my way to CVS tonight after work to pick up film I dropped off at the one hour photo in hopes there is a picture in there that I like that we can send out for our Christmas cards!
I am in the same boat as you, it's not easy being a full time working Mom....Sometimes we and Hubby have "discussions" on who's more tired and who get's more sleep!

Re: 10 days before Christmas -- can you say STRESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Camille, it's not me, right?? I just called home again and the baby was crying and I asked him if he changed her diaper, so he tells me "not since she took a massive dump" and I asked him how long ago that was and he said FOUR HOURS AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTF IS WRONG WITH HIM?????? I asked him if he'd like to sit in a wet diaper for 4 hours and he laughed!!!! Then I asked him to look up an address for me and he goes "oh you kidding, while a baby and the phone??" Oh the poor guy!!! How about how many things I do with one hand now??!!!!
Clueless!!!!

Re: 10 days before Christmas -- can you say STRESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Deb, this thread has my DYING LAUGHING
The past 3 weeks or so, John Anthony has decided to GET UP in the middle of the night A-LA-NEWBORN style (I HOPE This stops soon! ) Well the first few nights I got up, since daddy has to get up for work..Im cool with that Well then a few nights he got up, he felt bad Well THEN I NOTICED that the little rugrat, my son, wanted NOTHING TO DO WITH ME, but wanted DADDY!!!! so Daddy has been the one to get up lately. JA basically wants to be held and entertained, very rarely has it been any pain or dirty diaper... Sometimes a bottle did the trick, but most of the time, simply picking him up, would put him right back into dreamyland, IN DADDY's ARMS ONLY.
Well needless to say, John would mumble all day, how many hours he was up at night (meanwhile, they both slept on the couch, so is that considered being awake?? ) But he acts like I have NO IDEA what its like to be up in the middle of the night!! WAIT TILL MARCH, I'll show him (again!)
The "TIRED" story has me rolling too! This morning John woke up "tired" and was about to call in sick!!! Im glad he didnt because I get ANNOYED when he uses a sick day to hang around the house
MEN....MEN...MEN...

Re: 10 days before Christmas -- can you say STRESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
You are tooooo funny. I think instead of the Jessica and Nick show on MTV you guys need your own show!!
Working mothers= full-time working outside of the home AND full-time working inside the home. Take care of baby, baby stuff, laundry, wash floors, grocery shop, birthday cards, change the sheets, dust etc....
Working Dads= full-time working outside the home. take out garbage and perhaps shovel or rack once in a while
I am lucky because Scott has done a lot of the remaining shopping. It is not an easy time of year to have a little one, plus a full-time job plus a husband plus a home.

Goodness gracious Deb!! That was a mouthful
I hope your father comes home soon and is feeling better.
I can't imagine any picture of Gianna not being great, she's such a beauty.

Deb,
I feel for you. Sometimes men just don't understand. That's all I can say. I can't even imagine juggling a baby, working full-time and planning for Christmas. I feel your stress.

Re: 10 days before Christmas -- can you say STRESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
OMG! I don't know whether to laugh or cry! I feel for you! My DH wants to know why is it so hard for me to go shopping! UH, there's 2 of them to get dressed, fed, into car seats, find a parking spot 15 miles away, out of the car seats, into the stroller, dodge the traffic in the parking lot, try to open the door of the mall (where people just let it go - nice holiday spirit! ), into the store, off with the jacket, double don't touch that, double picking up the stuff they pull, two whining babies who want out of the stroller, no hands to hold packages, etc, etc, and so on!
And he says "how hard could it be"! Meanwhile, he's NEVER taken them anywhere alone, and when we all go out, he tells me getting out of the house is stress turned up to 10! Men!
And ps: He doesn't like the presents I buy his family! Too conventional! But, I guess I love him anyway! Happy Holidays!

OK - and now he just called on his way to a nice holiday lunch with clients to ask me if I finished writing and if I mailed the Christmas cards!! And what am I waiting for? I said I have no stamps and he suggested I go to the post office (take a nice little walk, hon!) I'm gonna take a nice little walk...to Bora Bora!
