Are you thinking about lambs wool. Its a very tight curl but flat, usually black. My Grandmother had one.

Not sure what you want, but my FMIL had her fur "adjusted" by John Pappas Furs on Sunrise in Oakdale/Bohemia/Sayville (not sure where one ends and the next begins). It had weird buttons and straps on the shoulder.

i think you are talking about lambs wool- it has a swirly patterny look to it. in black.
