Tipping question - please help! Wedding is in 3 days
My wedding is this weekend and I'm still not totally sure about tipping. I know it's been discussed alot, but I really need some last - minute help! How much is an average tip for:
- Limo Drivers - we have 2 - DJ/MC, do we give them 1 larger tip to split? - Photographer and assistant - Videographer
Also, do we tip valet or coat check people. I'm not sure if that's our responsibility or up to the guests. Thanks for any advice you can give me!

have you tried doing a searcho n here. there was a great thread that listed it all. I know I didnt tip my photo, video or dj b/c they were the owners. I read that somewhere. I would think the coat check people are covered from the guests. good luck.

Hi, a new bride to be but I believe tips for Limo guys should be on your contract, Video, photo etc. depends on service and $50 to $100 per vendor( my friends used Spelman). Coat check, bathroom and valet your should ask your banquet manager. I do not like tip baskets, so ask about a pretip and they put a sign out saying you took care of gratuities.

Re: Tipping question - please help! Wedding is in 3 days
It's amazing how much I forgot already even though I haven't even been married a month! OK, here's what I think we tipped everyone:
Maitre'd - it was suggested between $2-$3 per guest so we tipped her $2 per guest (165 guests) for a total of $330. My DH may have even slipped more $$ in there b/c she was great.
Bridal Attendant - I think we set aside $50 & then we threw in another $20 at the end of the day b/c she was great too!
We did not tip Waitstaff, coat check or valet b/c we felt our guests are supposed to be tipping them plus EW told us we didn't have to.
DJ/MC: $150? Even though our DJ was the owner, we tipped him anyway & just said here's for you and your MC. What he did with it, I don't know.
Photographer & Assistant - $150?
Videographer - He was my cousin's husband & did the video for free as a gift so we didn't tip him.
Limo's - My In-law's paid for the limos so I don't know what they tipped, sorry!
Hair & Make-up - Both girls came to my house & did me, sister & mom. I tipped them 20%.
Florist - $20 per delivery guy (2 guys). When the guy dropped the bo-k's off at my house, I asked him how many guys there were & he said he & a guy who delivered to the church so I gave him 2 $20's & hoped that he gave it to the other guy too!
Just don't seal your envelopes that day b/c you never know if you might to add or subtract money depending on service.
GL and have fun!

Re: Tipping question - please help! Wedding is in 3 days
For my wedding we did very simiar to above:
Maitre'd - it was suggested between $2-$3 per guest so we tipped her $2 per guest (175 guests) . I think my dad slipped more $$ in too- we left the envelope open just in case.
Bridal Attendant - $100
We did not tip Waitstaff (included in gratuity price of reception)
Coat check, bathroom attendant and valet - guests tipped
DJ/MC: $100 to both the DJ and assistant - DJ owned his own company.
Photographer & Video/Assistant- $100- photog/video owned own company
Limo's - $25 per driver
Hair & Make-up -20% each.
Florist - $20 per delivery guy.

What if the price you paid to certain vendors already added the gratuity. For example a vendor (limousines) charges you a $1000 plus 20% gratuity thats $1200 plus whatever tax, do you tip on top of that?
