puppy's first christmas

anybody have any helpful hints for my puppy's first Christmas?

She is a little dog - a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is just a little love sponge - but very....well let's say inquisitive.....although listens GREAT to new (and old) commands. The one thing she isnt' so great at is new objects in the house. Unmoving objects. Like...Christmas trees for example.... When we move in a new piece of furniture, or move something into a new spot, she just barks at it forever. I am pretty sure she'll do this with the tree. Any suggestions on how to "Christmas tree break" a pup?

Wish I could help! I want to get a tree, but I'm afraid that my puppy (well, he's a year old) will pee on it! We had him at Christmas last year, but didn't get a tree. We always get a real one. Maybe it's time for a fake one!
