Can anyone recommend a "grown up" place to go out for drinks in Suffolk, maybe a wine bar??
So I am back at my parents' house in Commack for the holidays (and I hope this post works from their OLD computer and SLOW connection) and just got a call from an old friend who wants to meet up for a drink or something. The only places I can think of, from my youth here, are the high school/college-crowd bars in Huntington (too crowded with frat boys and 18-year-olds for us now!!) and awful chain restaurants with bad service like Ruby Tuesday's (yuck). Can anyone recommend a nice place where 30-year-olds can go for a drink, maybe some dessert and snacks, and catch up on old times, somewhere in Suffolk, preferably near Commack or Smithtown? We'd love to find a wine bar type place, but the only ones I know are in Manhattan. Please help!

I know of a few martini-type places that I've *wanted* to go to but haven't visited yet...
The Rare Olive, Huntington Blue Lizard Lounge, Commack
I've been to Red in Huntington...it's cute - small, red and only slightly pretentious.

There's a piano bar just North of 25A in Huntington...the name escapes me but it's the actual street address. Really cool lounge atmosphere - good drinks, nice couches, etc. and live music on the weekends.

Collins & Main in Sayville has a nice little lounge/bar area. I've only been there for a private party so I'm not sure what it's like on a regular night but it's got comfy chairs and sofas and I think there was a piano so there may be live music too.
