My FIL's are driving me NUTS!!!!! (Sorry, long)

Almost 2 months ago, we sat down and "finalized" our guest list so we could see how many invitations we needed to order. It came out to around 105, so we ordered 125 JUST IN CASE!!! Well, my FIL's decided to add more people to the guest list, which is competely within their rights since they are the ones paying, but it has come out to so many more people that we may have to order more invitations. And the minimum order is 50!!!! They said they will also pay for the extra invitations, but that's not that point!!! Why couldn't they have thought of this 2 months ago?!?!?!?

And she doesn't even know the names of some of the cousins' husbands and stuff so we know who the hell we are inviting!!!!!

Then when I said we want to send out the invites mid-January, she said "Well, isn't that a little early?" The response date is Feb 15th, which everyone agreed on before I ordered them. (This gives us plenty of time to hunt down anyone who didn't respond, and get a head count to the hall 4 weeks ahead of the wedding.) We can't send the invites out later than mid-Jan and expect people to be able to respond!!!

I just don't know what to do anymore. I know they are paying, but sometimes it feels like they are taking advantage of that fact. My FH doesn't think it's so bad. I'm so confused!!

Mid Jan isn't too early. If worse comes to worse you can do waves - people who's info you have and people who you don't have a week or so later.

Just make sure your room can hold all these people!

Thanks, Nadine. The room isn't a problem. It can hold up to 500. We don't have anywhere near that many, and will be having part of the room sectioned off. If we run over we can always open up a little more. But why does she keep changing her mind about stuff at the almost last minute? I'm surprised she didn't wait til they were going into the mail to say "Oh I wanted to invite a few more people!" Maybe I am just too stressed. I don't know.
