Well, I just spoke to the vet and things are not looking good. He told me she made a tiny bit of improvement, but not as much as he would have liked to have seen. I don't have the heart to call FH and tell him this. He is so devestated. All he would talk about last night was Miss Kitty. I feel so bad. This was his first pet ever. The doctor said they are going to keep her until atleast Friday now and keep trying to pump her with fluids and antibiotics, but if that doesn't work we are going to have to discuss what we really don't want to discuss. I am just so sad and depressed. I have a billion things to do. I have 6 papers due for school Tuesday and a lesson to give for my assistant principal Tuesday and I just can't get anything done. Life Sucks!!! Please keep praying that Miss Kitty will pull through. I don't know what we will do if she doesn't. FH will just be devestated!!

I'm praying for Miss Kitty!! I have a cat that I love very much. I took him in when he was abandoned by his mom at just 8 weeks old and he weighed just about 12 oz. Five years later, he's my "Buddy" and I can't imagine going through what you and FH are. It's amazing how pets become such a huge part of our lives and we'll do just about anything for them.
Just keep in mind that if and when you have to make some decisions, you're making them in her best interest.....

Well, we just got back from visiting Miss Kitty. Even though the doctor says she is still sick, she is doing a bit better. We could tell by looking at her she is a bit better. She was more responsive today. We brought her brush with us and brushed her good and we brought her some water with ice in it, she loves ice water. The doctor says we will know more tomorrow when he does blood tests again to see if she has improved. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she has made improvement. He told us we can bring her some turkey tomorrow when we visit. She will like that. Well, I guess thats it for now. Hopefully our baby will be feeling better soon and we will not have to worry about making any tough decisions. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I know she is just a cat, and some people think we are crazy when we tell them what is going on, but we are so attached to her. She is part of our family, a big part, and the thought of losing her is so sad and scary. We just have to keep having hope and faith that she will bounce back from this. Thank you all again!!

Jaime - Glad Miss Kitty is doing a bit better. I do not think you are crazy at all but I know what you mean about some people who are not pet people and just don't get it. Hope you can enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow. And I bet she'll love the turkey!! Me & my three dogs will keep the good thoughts going!

My heart is breaking for both of you during this painful experience. I can totally sympathize .. I lost my "growing up" cat to cancer five years ago, just a couple of weeks before Christmas (he was 11 .. soon to be 12) .. his last couple of months were rough before the ultimate decision had to be made .. and even though it's five years later .. and some people would think it's silly of me to still feel sadness .. I don't care. The special bond between a human and an animal is truly unique .. some people just don't get it .. and that's their loss.
My thoughts and good wishes are with you for Miss Kitty.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Well, the doctor just called and they ran tests on Miss Kitty today. He said her toxins were a little better, but she was still very sick, but showing slight improvement. He also told us that she had a seizure today. She is ok and recovering from that. He said it is normal when they are sick like this to have seizures. We are both just so down in the dumps today. I have been crying all day. We don't even feel like going anywhere. We just want to get our baby better. I am thankful that she is still hanging in there and fighting. The doctor said the next 24 hours will tell us alot about whether she will improve or not. So its basically a waiting game now. We are going up to visit her at 5:00 tonight and we are going to bring her some turkey. I will update agin tonight. Thank you again for all your prayers and support and for sharing all your stories. It really has meant a lot. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

GOOD NEWS!!! We just got back from the vet and Miss Kitty has improved greatly. She was very alert today, she bathed herself while we were there, she ate today, she was drinking a bit and she was purring like crazy. We are sooo happy. The vet told us that some of her toxins were still a little high and they are going to retest them tomorrow. They said she will never be 100% again, but with lots of care and treatment she still has a few good years ahead of her. They are going to wean her off the fluids they are giving her and we are going to have to learn tomorrow how to give her injections under the skin until she is able to drink more on her own. She still is sick but much better. And improving every day. They said there is a chance we might be able to take her home TOMORROW. We are so excited. We can't believe the recovery she has made in a couple of days. Please keep praying for her as she is not totally out of the woods yet. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. They have helped and Miss Kitty has improved thanks to all your prayers. Thank you all!!!

Well, we got a phone call about a half hour ago... Miss Kitty is being discharged at 11:00!!!
