Crazy lady calls and leave message

"Hi, this is Pauls Mother, if he can please call me back, Id appreciate it. Its not an emergency, but it is important. So if my son can call me back Id appreciate it."

Someone explain this to me

Ok, this is rather bizarre.

I do have a question- Did your MIL have a hard time accepting the fact that Paul was getting married.

Also, is their an unhealthy attachment on both parts and she somewhat resents you for taking him away?

Ok, that is two questions. Maybe I am overanalyzing this, but I know of situations like this.

Thanks ladies, ever since the wedding she has been real weird. I called her after the wedding and she gave me the cold shoulder. Pauls sister has also been pissed at us, and I think shes flufing his mother's ass.

Sorry Im being blunt, but they are so weird. They are only concerned about how they feel and no one else.

I thought it was strange thanks for confirming.

Nvrbrd, I dont think shes having seperation issues, but I could be wrong.

My MIL doesn't do that...thank GOD! My SIL's use to do that a long time ago. Its like the machine says Kathy and Enzo with my voice and they use to be like "Hi Enzo, just calling to see what you are doing? Call me back when you get the chance."

Thank God that changed. The relationship is much better since we are married.

It's been a while since I've been on the boards, so I have catching up to do!

Wacky - your MIL sounds like she is going through the quintessential "new MIL withdrawal." Is she happily married or have someone in her life? If not, watch out, lonely MIL's can be cancers in marriages!

That message was VERY telling as far as her feelings are concerned. I see you've been married only 4months, you probably need to give her some time to get adjusted to the idea of you and her son being married. This is really common and myself as well as many other women have been through this. However, brace yourself, there might come a time when you, DH and MIL has to have a talk! Maybe not right now, but at some point if she continues to give you the cold shoulder. BUT, do be forewarned, that's your hubby's mother so you have to be careful as to what and how you approach the situation to avoid arguments or resentments between you and DH. Did your hubby hear the message??? If so, what did he say about it?
