ATTN Teachers or anyone good at riddles
My niece is asking my help on a math puzzle and I am stumped.
if you draw 3 circles next to each other (not touching)
and underneath each circle a triangle (not touching)
She needs to us nine lines that can't cross to connect each circle to each triangle (the lines can't becircled around to the under part) how do you do it?
Any guesses?

Re: ATTN Teachers or anyone good at riddles
I found this online, but it doesn't really help, it says that it can't be solved. Puzzle Help My only guess is to connect the three circles with two lines between them, then five lines from the circles to the triangles, then two between the triangles. I'm guessing it can't be done with three lines from each triangle, and you are trying to connect them more like a circuit than to connect each one, but I might be wrong.
here's the best I could do to draw what I'm trying to explain. each dash or i is a line, and each o is a circle or triangle. The V is two lines, and you should also have a line in the middle of the v, to make nine lines. Just wanted to add, since it's not coming out right when I post, is that the lines that the V represents should be drawn from the outer circles to the tip of the inner triangle. Also, I wanted to say that I don't know if I'm right, but it's all I could come up with. o-o-o i V i o-o-o

I agree. Can't be solved. In fact, to get the 8 that the answer page says is possible, I don't think the lines can be straight.
