Anyone just pick their readings etc. from the together for life book

i jsut got the book, when we finished precana and I am confused about 2 readings, the responsorial psalm and the prayer of the faithful: it says sung, read by do you have a singer and a reader or one or the other. I can not believe how many people avtually need to be involved, its overwhelming. please advise

Basically you need to have 2 readers I believe...one for new testament and one for old....the other stuff can be read instead of sung, so you don't need a million people partaking in the readings.

You choose. I'm choosing to have the prayer of the faithful read by one of our guests (making 3 readers total). If you choose to only have 2 readers, I believe the church singer can do it for you.-

Re: Anyone just pick their readings etc. from the together for life book

It really depends on the church. If I want I can choose to do only one reading (from the New Testament) since I am only having a ceremony. The readings from the old testament and the prayer of the faithful are optional. The responsorial psalm is sung by the cantor and we were given four choices to choose from that weren't in the Together for life book. You can double check with your precana couple or talk to whom ever is doing your service for clarification.

We had 3 readers. We also did the Prayer of Couple that DH and I read together (we got quite a few compliments on this).

We had 3 readers- 1 for the First Reading fron the Old Testament, 1 reader for the Second Reading from the New Testament and then a reader for the Prayer of the Faithful - we had our church singer sing the Responsorial Pslam.
