Will this look funny or would you not even notice?

I just noticed that I have been buying very colorful lawn decor for Christmas this year, BUT the inside of my house will be decorated all victorian like with white lights on my tree, and lots of ivory, burgundy, and gold.. as I have for many years in my old apt. I like the colorful lawn ornaments bc they are so much brighter but will it look weird? Victorian is def more ME, but...
I know it seems like a very silly question, but I just spent a couple of hundred on colorful lawn figurines! Whatcha think?

I think it will be fine... I too buy Colorfull stuff and fun stuff for the front of the house.. but inside I only do two colors..this year I MIGHT add a third color, so I will do red gold, and incorporate some green..

So no i think your house will look just beautiful the way you describe it. plus i think the outside decorations are for the kid in all of us, and I LOVE driving around with frank with some hot chocolate looking at all the colorfull and fun decorations.

Whew! Thanks guys! I agree... I think I was naturally inclined to buy colorful stuff for the front outside bc it's more what I like seeing... as a kid and I guess an adult too!
I can't wait til those days come when we can drive around looking at the houses!!!!! That's gotta be one the best things about the holidays!

Matt and I have an agreement. Inside of the house will be mine (I am a whit light red bow more magazine/Martha Stewart look)

Outside will be all his. He loves those BIG colored bulbs. (he actually wanted to put them on our tree ) So next year when we do up the new house he can do the outside (with a little "help" from me of course.....wouldn't want our new neighbors to think we are nuts!!

Lauren I TOTALLY AGREE..

I always say I LOVE it when it gets dark early, for me it signifies the begining of everything.. fall, thanksgiving, christmas..

I love driving home from work and seeing all the lights and decorations..

I want to start to put it up soon..

Suzanne! I can't wait!!! I have already starting bringing some things from the basement upsatirs. Can't wait to tie a little bow on something!!!!

Jen - OMG - Matt sounds just like my Dad! That's my Dad's style and one year he actually DID put those huge bulbs on the tree. Soooo NOT Martha! I will not let Joe get anywhere near stores with decorations. I haven't seen his taste yet for outside decor.. but he seems to be like my Dad in MANY ways!!!

I am scared we will have a house like the Grizwalds!!!!

But marriage is about comprimse right!?

I told him no big bulbs but that he can have color. I may pay some neighborhood kids to "steal" anything I don't really like

Frank loves the BIG colored bulbs too..

EVERYYEAR he complains that the tree is all white lights.. but i told him I dont have many more christmas's left that I can do this, because once we have kiddies we will do the colored lights and string popcorn and papermade decorations and oh god, probably GARLAND

OH NO SUZANNE... DID YOU SAY GARLAND? I think I just broke out in hives. Matt is dying for tinsel as he calls it (or is there actually a difference)

I think when we have kids they may need to get their own tree in the den or the basement and leave the big tree in the living room for mommy. Is that soooo bad?

It's so true... men never mature and this is a great example that shows it! Suzanne - I am not looking forward to my multi-colored garland hanging tree! But it is all in store for us one day!!!! Maybe I'll dress up two trees when that time comes!!!!

Jen thats what my mom did.. She had the fake 9 foot tree in the living room and SHE decorated that.. and in the den there was the smaller 6 footer real tree that we decorated..eventually she gave that up and we decorated the one in the living room all together..

Garland is different from tinsel.. we could NEVER have tinsel, cause the dogs could choke on it, and it gets EVERYWHERE.. Garland is the thick shinny stuff... yuck..
